I recently stayed at this hotel for 10 nights in September. I was concerned regarding both the level of service as well as the safety due to COVID-19. The hotel did an excellent job in adapting to both.

Upon entering the hotel your temperature is taken and you are offered hand sanitizer. There is a zero tolerance mask policy, which was reassuring to see. The breakfast buffet in the restaurant was hygienic with staff members masked and gloved, eager to help and assist in serving food in the safest way possible. There are hand sanitizer stations all throughout the hotel. The front desk staff both wears a mask and has the plexiglass divider separating them and the guests. In general the staff seemed grateful to be back at work (hotel was at around 70% capacity) and eager to assist in any manner.

We were in a room located in the new building, the room was dusty from inactivity, upon arrival after request the cleaning staff came and did a thorough cleaning and the housekeeping staff was consistently great throughout the trip.

One thing to note about this hotel is the excellent grass lawn that is open in front of the new building which was used daily by small children to play as well as a group of adult men staying from Myanmar to play daily soccer matches each afternoon.

Great job Novotel Cairo Airport, I will be back in January on my next trip for sure!

I have been here for two stays from December 1st to December 5 and moved to city center hotel for two nights to come back again from December 7th. To 9th. , I have been throught the reviews here and am a frequent visitor to this hotel for the previous years to be close to airport but most of all I stay here because of people , my first stay I arrived early at 8 am my room was not ready but I can not blame the team my check in confirmed at 14:00 and they managed to check me in earlier , I really wonder people who arrive early to a busy hotel and expect that the team would have to make it happen as one review I saw here some times people as for more that what they are intitled and complain that team did not make it happen , this is being unfair to team member who try so hard to make it happen, Novotel Cairo Airport over and over the place where I feel very much welcomed and close to airport 🛫 where I do not need to rush or worry about traffic when flying out or arriving to Egypt, team members are outstanding, they know my preferences such as I like to have extra water in my room so I don't even have to ask for it, it's done by default , amazing egg station where even when busy they smile and serve with passion, Executive chef who tour the restaurants to make sure we are happy a long with other guests , this hotel is marvelous, see my other reviews here , it bacame my address in Cairo , can not wait to go back to feel their warm welcome great services and reasonably priced location for rooms and food , super clean

Egypt Air & Novotel must have a deal where the customers who are stranded overnight are relegated to the smoky, uncleaned and loud dungeon rooms. Or so it seems, as my stay in Cairo was perfumed with the stench of old (and new) cigarettes and had a jazzy soundtrack of shuffling feet down the hallway and music from the pool/terrace bars. The abundant dust bunnies, ample dirt on the floor and greasy hand prints on the furniture added to the allure. The generous sprinkling of short and curly hairs in the bathtub was just the icing on the cake. The sheets and towels do appear to be clean and well washed, so, you know, there is at least one basic standard in place. I think if you are a paying customer you get a better room. My suggestion - if you too are stranded here courtesy of an airline, maybe try chatting up the front desk staff and get an upgrade. Even if you have to pay for it, trust me, it will be worth it!

The first room the receptionist gave me at this hotel had the most disgusting filthy floor. There was a huge dead cockroach on the floor and it looked like the white tiled floor had not been swept and mopped for at least a month!! Gross!!The man that took me to my room immediately ran to get to get a mop to try to remove the filth but I would have none of it!!!I immediately walked back to front reception desk and demanded a room that was clean. I was staying this hotel for six hours between flights but six hours would have been a lifetime in that filthy room. The second room I was given was on the second floor in the back part of the hotel was carpeted and much less dirty. This room was actually fine except the carpet needed to be vacuumed!! Another problem with the Novotel is that NO bathroom products were provided not even one bar of soap!! Not one bar of soap if you can imagine that but it was 200% better than the first room and acceptable for a five hour layover. Internet also was desperately slow!!!! I had a bar soap in my suitcase so I was able to take a much needed shower . I will say the food looked very tasty at the restaurant but I did not partake in any dining there!! I would not stay here again not even for five hours. Le Meridian at the airport is 1,000% nicer but is also more expensive!!!

Hotel website heavily promotes its free shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel. However I waited 45 minutes at Terminal 3 and it never came. Reception said it was half hourly.

Hot on security. This explains why some taxi drivers at Cairo airport wouldn't take me here - because they weren't legal taxi drivers and security check vehicles, contents and driver ID before entering the grounds.

Didn't pay attention to booking details so tried to charge me full price when I'd paid with some LCAH/ALL points.

Sent out the back of the hotel to the 'new' block. Signage could be better when arriving at 3am and tired!

Overarching memory however is how scruffy and dirty the corridor carpets were.

Shuttle bus back to the airport was reasonable, not really big enough for all the luggage people in this part of the world travel with. Driver very friendly and gave a quick lesson on the history of Cairo airport on the way!

Reception staff don’t understand English, and they don’t pick up the phone.
Housekeeping ask for money and ask to write good reviews on how good the cleaning was in the room.
Room service is appalling, they don’t pick up the phone and when I order water bottles I have to go physically to the bar to pick it up.

We stayed at Novotel from March 26-29 2021. We were completely disappointed at a list of things:
1. They told us that the only room available with a king bed is on ground floor so we took it. They gave us a room that has not been cleaned for months as there was dust in quantities on the floor. My husband took pictures and went to notify the reception. They were totally careless and the manager just said to change the room for us. They gave another room with king bed on another floor. Therefore, the first statement was not true!
2. Due to pandemic, our trip was supposed to be in June 2020 but everything got canceled and we had a 5 nights stay booked which was supposed to be given back to us in a form of a voucher as per Novotel's agreement with hotels.com. However, we never got that voucher and when we came to book for our march 2021 trip, my husband stayed on the phone every 48hrs with them for the past 7 weeks and nothing has been done. We ended up paying our march booking even though Novotel owes us $385 USD! All other airlines, hotels, reservations in the entire world due to the pandemic was giving either refunds or vouchers, except Novotel who screwed us.
3. During our stay in March 2021, the service is just so bad, it is not a a 4 star hotel at all, not even 1 star. And if I could give zero star to this review, I would. I ordered from the bar a double nespresso from their menu on 2 seperate days with 2 seperate bartenders. On each instance, they did a single nespresso and gave it to me. I had to argue with them that this is a DOUBLE nespresso as per what their menu says and to add another capsule. All staff is doing their best to lack at their service for you to hate your stay. It's their vision and mission at this facility.
To conclude, avoid staying here. We stayed next at Steigenberger el Tahrir (downtown) and the service was spectacular for a cheaper price per night. Going forward, I am not staying at Novotel and even if I want a location close to the airport, I will search for something else! So done with Novotel after they stole $385 from us!

Hard check in. Room not ready after a long flight
When got room carpet was wet from I guess whoever had it before. The water ran out by the bathroom.
However shower seemed nice and clean along with Bed linens.
We wanted a king or queen. Was only given 2 single beds.
They had 3 weddings going on and things seemed pretty chaotic so if noise bothers you find another hotel. Apparently they have weddings all the time.
Buffet sucked. I have been in Egypt for 13 days pretty use to the food and variety. This one is way below par. I would stay away from it.
Things aren’t kept cold like it should.
Just order from bar food seemed to come out hot/cold and properly made. Still would trust the raw vegetables.
Front desk is little to no help. Really good at avoiding eye contact and I never complained just had a question about check in procedure was thrown off by waiting over 2 hrs for room wanted to make sure they had my reservation but they just wouldn’t talk to me. Or anyone really
Very close to hotel. Pool is not heated for cooler times of year but I think if you went swimming you would bother the outdoor weddings.
Also… don’t trust spa went to get a massage great price but shady how they wanted you to pay. Felt as if they were skimming from hotel.
Wouldn’t take credit card but other therapists said they would and somehow things changed didn’t feel right so I left.
Over all I would find another hotel.

Simply put, this hotel is awful.

1) we arrived about 1am and they could not find our reservation. Told to wait in the smoke filled bar, which we did until 2:30am, at which time they told us they still could not find our reservation and the only option was to leave or to give them $50 cash to be placed into an envelope until they can find the reservation. Have $50 and was assigned a filthy room but went to sleep. Not a single offer of a comped drink while they looked for our reservation. In fact, we paid $30 for 2 drinks at the bar when all we wanted was sleep.

2) woke up and went down to inquire about the reservation. Apparently their systems were not functioning yesterday which caused the issue. Was told it would be resolved in 30 minutes and to have breakfast. Midway through breakfast, someone came up to the table to say breakfast wasn’t included and I’d need to pay $20. Wasn’t sure how they came to this conclusion without my reservation but I paid and went to the front desk. They found the reservation but are waiting on money from the site that I booked through. Apparently they sent them an email this morning. Lol. Yea, that’s for real.

3) was told to get my $50 cash back I’d have to leave $50 in a card and would get refunded when payment was received. Had to go so left $50 which I’m sure this hotel won’t refund.

4) food is awful. Breakfast is not work $10 per person. Absolutely inedible.

5) our room was filthy and strangely the door was wide open when we came upstairs.

6) staff were not wearing masks openly. Picture is of front desk receptionist with no mask. This was regular with the staff here.
