Friendly staff. At least adequate breakfast. And some of the rooms have fast Wifi (make sure you ask for that). Lots of things don't work here but they are always willing to help you. The location is prime, and this is a friendly, helpful place. Much better than other budget options in Zamalek.

Ridiculous price for what you get. Best I can say is that the rooms are clean and the sitting room has a bit of old Colonial charm. Otherwise it's a dank, oppressive place.

Located in a relatively calm street of Zamalek, this small "hotel", located on the 4th floor of the same building where Longchamps hotel is (!), offers clean simple rooms and a warm welcome despite the cold entrance of the building. Old but clean furniture, nice bar, very kind personnel, and some interesting people living there for years! Breakfast poor. Good...

We stayed at both the Horus Hotel and, upstairs in the same building, the Longchamps hotel. If you like modern plastic hotels, they are not for you. If you like big hotels, they are not for you. But, if you like an inexpensive hotel that is cozy and familiar, you can't beat these two hotels, their meals, the service or...

We had a great experience at Hotel Horus. My wife and I arrived to the airport at different times and terminals as we were meeting in Cairo to begin a vacation. My wife was taken to a different hotel by a Taxi driver and told this was the Hotel she asked for. It took 24 hours to locate her after...

Horus House is a family establishment offering basic accommodations for a great rate. The room was clean but run-down. It offered all the necessaries, including refrigerator, TV, hair dryer, and phone. Free wifi is available in the common areas (there are a few). I was able to get online from my room with some inconsistency. Wifi is not supposed to...

We came to this hotel on the recommendation of a friend and were glad to have been introduced. This small hotel is centrally located in a small street in zamalek with easy access by taxi to all areas of cairo (although not all taxi drivers are familiar with the street). The staff were very friendly although were not so well...

We stayed here with young children. Not only was the air conditioning not working in our rooms and it was very, very hot outside (over 40 degrees) but when we complained and asked for a fan, they finally located one - and it was also broken and there was not another fan in the whole hotel. This hotel represents very...

We were pleased with our stay at Horus House. The staff was attentive and extremely friendly and always available. Husband had to conduct emergency business at 2-3 o'clock in the a.m. and they helped him use their fax machine, etc. On one occasion they made us quick and fresh cucumber and tomato sandwiches at a minute's notice on off hours....

We stayed here on 2 different occasions but after we learned the staff was ripping us off, we knew we were not going back for a third visit. Because of the following reasons, here is why we would not ever look at the Horus House again. 1) Even after confirmation to pick us up at the airport ( we have...
