Perfect rural location just opposite Luxor city. Convenient shuttle boat on demand. Charming owner and attentive staff. Spacious apartment like bungalow accomodation with this extra service. Reasonable garden restaurant overlooking the Nile (still, some room to extend the menue); cheerful choice of restaurants next door.

My mother and I arrived in Luxor after dark. We took a taxi to the Sheraton as coordinated with the manager. Our boat captain met us outside the gates and took us across the river. I would be lying if I said we didn't have a moment of trepidation as our bags were loaded onto the boat, but the second...

Very authentic on West Bank. Lovely traditional bungalows. Fabulous service. Clean. Mahmoud the GM and manager is German trained local, and is courteous and very very helpful. Boat available at any time to east bank. Why would anyone stay at a western chain hotel near the valley of the kings???

A great escape away from the bustle of the East Bank. Brilliantly located to explore the Valley of the Kings, Nobles temples and all the other delights of the West Bank. Accommodation great in little bungalows with private courtyards. Walks into the banana plantation and free sunset cruise, what more could you ask for? We will definitely be going back.

Al Baeirat hotel was definitely the hotel we liked the most during our stay in Egypt! It is a small hotel on the West-bank of the Nile. The noisy Luxor-city lies on the other side of the Nile, but with the private boat of the hotel, it is only 5 minutes away. So visiting the temples of the East-bank is...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
On the banks of the Nile Hotel Al Baeirat is situated within a banana plantation. Like a little village it blends into the neighbourhood and is built of country-specific architecture with domed structure which is traditionally made of clay. Off the beaten track you can enjoy the silence and the egyptian style in a private and friendly atmosphere. For relaxation we are offering the whole family a wonderful swimming pool directly on the banks of the Nile. From our patio which is overlooking the Nile we are serving egyptian titbits. While sipping your coffee or drinking a cool beer you can let your eyes wander to the town of Luxor on the opposite shore and at night watch the bright lights of the incoming cruise liners. In the neighbourhood you will find numerous temple complexes, the Valley of the Kings and many more sights. ... more   less
