Went to Malu yesterday for lunch. Mali is set in a conservancy. it is beautiful, raw nature in the African, Kenyan bush.... The meal was served in the restaurant lodge, it was pleasant enough, but not one of the best meals I've had, the battered fried Talapia was a little soggy, the thin sliced potatoes were not very warm/cold. The...

Everyone told me about its delicious food which is not so oily and it was one of the best hotels near from Nairobi. But I could not get it why the reputation is so high at all now as they said, comparing with other many hotels in Kenya generally. In three days, I was not satisfied with the dishes except...

I needed this place. Like other visitors have said, it’s a quiet, peaceful, bird-watcher’s paradise. And more. Let me explain. If you’re done with the formal bigger hotel thing, then you will love Malu as much as I did. There is nothing stereotypical about your stay. It feels like you’ve been welcomed into a family home - it’s just that...

We stayed in one of the cottages. Comfortable with a nice verandah to watch the birds outside. Loved coming back from dinner to find a roaring fire in the fireplace. Meals were tasty. Steven, the guide, led us on bird spotting walks in the forest, and was an expert at identifying the many birds in the area. Best if you...

We, two families of all together seven people stayed in the Tree house for two nights. The setting is splendid with green trees and small monkeys all around the house, the river with hippos just close. The only obstacle was that you REALLY need a 4x4 car to get to the tree house- which we didn't have. That meant a...

I've always loved Malu - from the cottages setting, fireplace in the room, friendly dogs, set menu and the wilderness of the place. So much that I've been back here 4 times. The rooms may be rusty but it adds to the charm of the place. There's no TV, Wifi and cell reception is very poor so if you really...

We had a wonderful two night stay at Malu, nice relaxing farm environment. The kids enjoyed the donkey rides, milking the cows and collecting the eggs. We all enjoyed the walks and the plunge pool! We stayed in villa 1 which was nice and cosy, the staff were courteous and friendly and the food was great, accommodating to special requirements....

We've visited Malu for well over 10 years and love the tranquility, the food, the friendly staff, and the cozy cottages. It's a fantastic place to go as a family with young kids. Sadly, the management seems to have done little to keep the place up. Floorboards are rotting, all of the soft furnishings are showing their age, even most...

We stayed at the Mahindu cottages over the May bank holiday weekend. Malu is in a beautiful area, and the grounds of the cottage were well-kept. Unfortunately, it rained a lot - but the cottage is so cosy and inviting that we did not feel hemmed in, The cottage is very well-equipped for self-catering, although we did pop up to...
