From the well groomed grounds to the charming common areas to the wonderful meals prepared by William, Milimani's felt very much like an earlier reviewer said, "home away from home". All of the staff were uber friendly and the owner, Patricia, was the most gracious...More

Despite multiple checks by email prior to our arrival, we got stuck with 2 dorm beds with a shared bath room instead of a private room with private bathroom which we booked online! We "were allowed" to pay the dorm price - which was just...More

Hi! I see some folks have recommended the 3-day Masai maara trip organized by Milimani Backpackers. So we've booked it now and really looking forward to it. However, I have a question to those of you who've done the trip before. There's an optional Masai village visit on the last day. In regard to that I wonder: how often is this trip done (meaning do the village get visits every other day by tourists)?, have the village inhabitants capitalized on the visiting tourists (so that they to some extent rely financially on the visits)? Cuz if they have not capitalized on the visits I spontaneously feel that they might think its uncomfortable to constantly have tourist come and "watch" them live there daylily life as if they also where part of the safari "subjects". Would appreciate if someone who's done the trip could share there experience.
