- Very helpful and friendly staff who helped us organize day trip, transport etc. - Homemade meals - Lovely gardens to hang out located in a safe and quiet area After experiencing hectic and noisy Nairobi city centre during the day this was a perfect contrast to relax and recharge battery

Milimani backpackers has moved and is now in Karen. It was always basic but used to at least have a bar and communal space to meet other backpackers. Now it is in Karen, miles from town and has no bar. The only communal space is centered around a TV which is usually on loud so no one can communicate. Not...

This is the best value lodging in Nairobi. I stayed here many times throughout the year I spent in Kenya. It served as my home away from home in Kenya. It usually wasn't too crowded, I met many interesting people, and everyone was quiet and respectful. The hot showers were always a blessing after spending weeks in rural areas. The...

Although it was a bit far from the city center (and Nairobi traffic doesn't help) the place itself was in a nice location and had a very homely feel to it. The staff was really sweet and helpful and the food was pretty decent for the value as well. Overall it was a great stop over to relax and unwind...

The staff here are very friendly and are extremely helpful. The chef makes cheap, excellent home cooked food and the rooms here are decent. Only one shower but toilets and showers are far nicer than other back packer hostels

Let me start with the positive - the cooking and cleaning staff were really friendly and the food was good value. The bad - the location is difficult to travel from, there are a lot of noisy dogs around which may keep you up at night and I left embarrassed due to a false accusation, not exactly the service I...

I stayed at Milimani for 2 nights before going on Safari (booked through mentioned hostel). On up side hostel is safe, very clean and cosy/homey. Younger staff is nice and helpful, older only nice (not willing to troubleshoot wifi issues which turned out to be hostel's fault). On down side place is very far from the centre of Nairobi (not...

I stayed at Milimani at the beginning and end of my trip in Kenya. Patricia was a wonderful host and the breakfasts were great. On top of that, the location seemed very secure and the beds were clean. Although Milimani is a bit out of town, I managed to easily catch a matatu nearby. If I'm ever back in Nairobi...

I just spent my first and only night in Nairobi at the hostel. Unfortunately I couldn't close an eye during night because the neighbour's dogs were barking all night long (?!?well they were so loud and close that I assumed that they were the neighbour's dogs). The location is nice and was secured by guards. It's a little bit out...
