I revisited The Emakoko last week, after a two year absence, and it is still wonderful. Great rooms, great staff, a really wonderful atmosphere. It makes for a really nice transition from airport to bush.

Our family had a lovely stay at this beautiful hotel at the edge of Nairobi National Park. Our large family room was extremely comfortable and the dinner and breakfast were delicious. It's worth staying here even if you are just in Nairobi for a business trip, you would feel you had a chance to experience a luxury safari holiday. The...

This was our first stop on a family safari to Africa for 2 weeks in December 2016. We LOVED this hotel. The location is great, and was a good start for the kids to see animals as it is located on the edge of the National Park. (We had 4 kids and 5 adults. Ages 8-72.) The hotel is beautiful...

What a nice way to start a trip to Uganda and Kenya with a stop at Emakoko. The owners were there to greet us after Elizaban drove us from the airport. We were offered a light meal, which was so welcomed after the long journey from the US. Then we were taken to our room, which was lovely. We spent...

Our driver, James, met us at the airport and drove us through the Nairobi National Park to get to the lodge. When we arrived the serving people were lined up waiting for us and brought us in to meet the proprietor, Anton. They had a candle lit table set for two waiting for us and served us focaccia bread and...

We loved this place and have been returning guests many times since it opened. The food is amazing, lovely without the portions being over the top. Each room nestled into the cliff is amazing, comfortable and lovely. The views of Nairobi National Park are beautiful not to mention the animal that pass on by. I would really encourage you to...

Summary We stayed here 2 nights in early September 2016 and were extremely pleased with the facilities and the attention. Anthony and Emma (managers and part owners) made us feel very comfortable. I highly recommend this lodge as a first stop after a long flight to main Nairobi airport (NBO) as it is a short drive from the airport to...

Thank you very much for your detailed review, we try and encourage people to stay for two nights and we are glad you thought it was worth it. The KWS have confirmed that they will be re-doing all the roads in the park so hopefully this will happen in the not too distant future. Many thanks, Anthony & Emma

Is it possible to take a three year old boy on safari? It is if you stay at the Emakoko Lodge. We combined a work trip from Europe with the chance to bring our son to Africa for the first time and after staying in Nairobi for a few nights, followed by a night at the Nairobi Tented Camp, we...

It was wonderful to have you stay with us and I am so pleased that you enjoyed the lodge. The government plans with the railway will undoubtably have an enormous impact on the park, thankfully for The Emakoko we are 4Km away from the proposed track. Having said this, Nairobi National park is extraordinary and we have been assured that...
