This was a great place to stay for the week while exploring Nairobi. An awesome family that make you feel right at home instantly. The rooms were spacious and quiet for sleeping. You should definitely consider this spot when staying in Nairobi! You won't be disappointed.

Serah – we so enjoyed our time with you – and the opportunity to meet your extended family, friends and other guests. A much more rewarding experience than staying in a hotel! We stayed at Mdawida Homestay for several weeks while on a one-month visit to Kenya. Mdawida is in a gated community of family homes – so it is...

Sara the owner had problem with Agoda booking system, We had booed two rooms, she only had one! She gave us whole nearby house with 4 bedrooms . All to our selves. without charging anything extra. We spent one night before we headed out on our overland tour. Sarah (owner) had arranged our airport pickup so we didn't had to worry at all. Rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable all we were looking forward to after a long flight. Clean bathroom, fully equipped kitchen. This property is very close to the National park's...

The host(ess) kept on calling us and updating us on the arrangements they had for us. They were kind enough to pick my family from Otiende shopping centre. They ushered us in with lots of welcoming smiles. very friendly people. The rooms were clean, neat and spacious. My kids also found other kids to play with. Lots of cartoons and...

There is nothing this lovely couple cannot do for you. They sorted me out with a great trip to the Maasai Mara. From arriving, you feel like part of the family. I loved it so much, I came back to stay for one more night before leaving Kenya. The family support community schemes in Kibera that was worthy of support.

Before going into Tanzania, we stayed in the Homestay for a few days. The room was good, it had a good bed with mosquito net and a nice warm shower. We also spent some time in the living room, where we had stable WiFi. The meals were served here too. We really enjoyed having dinner: trying some different local dishes....

Just came home from another great three weeks in Kenya at Mdawida Homestay and Wongonyi village. Treated like family at both locations. Improvements noted both in the Homestay and the village from my visit five years ago.

If you want to truly stay in a homey place in Kenya, I highly suggest this household. Serah is so kind and welcoming. Her children are well behaved and polite. The room we had was clean and adequate. The house is out in the suburb area, so you do not have to worry about the city bustle and hustle. It...

This is a wonderful home stay. We love the host and her family. The Internet is the best we found in all the places we stayed at in Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Uganda. It's actually working! We used transport to get there (about 25$ each way) but it's worth it. The home stay is cheap and adding the transport it...

“Room choices depend completely on your preference. If you enjoy a social experience and want to immerse yourself into the day-to-day environment of the Kenya way of life, then there are several rooms inside that can be selected. There are shared and private rooms inside the house to enjoy. For those who would like a more private stay or are traveling as more than one, there are two rooms directly adjacent to the house (within the same compound), which will provide you with the privacy you (or your spouse, significant other, and/or friends) can enjoy.”

“The separate home (just outside but still within the compound) is a good choice if you prefer more privacy or solidarity, staying indoors is a much more social environment however.”
