Apparently Nairobi's first (upscale) hotel, this Leading Hotels of the World(LHW) property effectively marries a relaxed safari lodge feel with the comfort and amenities of a contemporary business hotel serving a global clientele. Boasting Nairobi's supposedly best restaurant, the hotel's menus provide a very tasty though limited offering. The hotel's service is top-notch throughout, from reception to concierge, housekeeping and...

I was at the Serena two times within 10 days as it was the launch and return spot for a Safari I was going on at the Maasai Mara. The night I arrived at the Serena I was tired, having just completed 2 8+ hour flights and having navigated arrivals etc at Nairobi Airport. My arrival couldn't have been easier...

In the middle of CBD, a hotel in the front of the garden. We received the best treatment. You feel safe. Restaurant are is very beautiful. Lavishly spread out dishes. Pool is near by almost tempting to jump. Will go again.

This is a beautiful hotel, tastefully decorated in a contemporary African style. My room was elegant and comfortable. Food here is good, with lots of choice - there are at least 3 restaurants in the Serena. This hotel has many beautiful areas - I ate a leisurely buffet breakfast under shade of the sun drenched terrace. We enjoyed delicious ice-cold...

When I arrive at the Serena in Nairobi and get out of my limo, it is always the same, as on cue I hear 'Welcome back Mzee', the mzee having made way for my name in recent years as my hair grew greyer and my advance in age could no longer be hidden. From the doorman in his splendid uniform...

Nice pool area, great breakfast and overall very good. As per previous reviewer though, staying in room between 8 and 5PM will drive you crazy due to the renovations. We escaped to the pool and it was fine there. Would have given the hotel a 4 if it wasn't for that and would stay again when work is done.

They have everything one might need including very comfortable beds and quiet rooms. The breakfast is varied, delicious and served in a beautiful dining room or on a pation overlooking the swimming pool. The hotel also offeres transfer services. On...

This Hotel is undergoing a top to bottom renovation expected to last 18 months. As things stand it probably deserves three rather than four stars. Starting with the negatives, elevator service is slow, there is noise from the workers tearing down the place, access including registration is slow. Bathrooms are small, staff not always responsive. Housekeeping has lapses (we came back at 7:15 PM...

The proximity in Nairobi to other area yet not in the busy CBD makes is a great pick. Parking is easy, access great. Currently renovating their front desk area though, may by done 2017. Would stay there again...
