Loved the beautiful grounds and tranquil setting and a super pool great to chill out after a long haul flight. Only a 10min 300 shilling cab ride to downtown Nairobi (it was Sunday afternoon). Nice friendly and efficient service. We'll be back if in Nairobi.

Most of what is said below on the positive side is accurate - with one exception, do not stay in an economy level room. They are very small and unattractive. The room we were given stood over a common restaurant and odors from the cooking permeated the room in the morning when breakfast was being served. We upgraded (and paid...

Lovely colonial hotel with good services for business. They have a good gym which is rare. Fast internet and the hotel has a lovely atmosphere. Very laid back and calm it definitely takes you out of the hustle and bustle of the city. Stay here if you can. FYI, rooms are clean, but as it is an old hotel some...

I have been staying in the Fairview every time I come to Nairobi over the last few years and never consider going anywhere else unless it is fully booked. I stayed with my husband in this lovely hotel again feb 2013 and we enjoyed the atmosphere, the friendliness of the staff, the food, the gardens - in short - everything.

The reviews calling the Fairview an "oasis" are right on - couldn't describe it any other way. Since it's located near the Israeli Embassy and governmental buildings, security is high. It was the only place that put our luggage through metal detectors. Our room was small but clean and quiet. Staff was welcoming and helpful. The surrounding gardens are beautiful...

This hotel is a beautiful meandering garden with a grand hotel in the middle. For me, traveling for work, it was perfect: plenty of beautiful places to meet or work with great (free) wifi everywhere - indoors and outdoors. The internet speed is better than many hotels in the US or Europe. The gyn is very nice - lots of...

It seems most good hotels in Nairobi are on the high side so the title may be unfair. I was recommended this hotel by frequent Nairobi travellers and it lived up to the promotion of being an oasis in the city. I had an executive room which may have been too big for just one person! No complaints, well serviced...

Sadly we could spend only 2 nights here. The hotel is a real oasis in a noisy, dusty city, with beautiful green lawns & comfortable places to relax. Possibly a bit too popular & crowded for our taste - we like a quiet holiday - but one can easily understand why.

This is a very good well run 4 star hotel but we had a dreadful nights sleep due to the location of our room. There were timber stairs on 2 sides of our room and we were constantly disturbed by movement on these. This marred what was otherwise an excellent stay. I would suggest you request a quiet room if you...
