A quiet secure part of the city with a wonderful staff. Walking distance from a mall (Village Market), where you can get everything that you need + ATM-machines. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is served in a small -cosy- dining room beside the kitchen, large portions. I was in one of the rooms one stairway up, a room with a balcony,...

We were here for a conference and Gigiri homestead was a perfect place to stay while in Nairobi. Calm and safe area. Great homecooked food in the restaurant. You have to order a head but it was no problem. Very nice and friendly staff!

The Gigiri Homesead is well-located 10-15 minutes walk from the UN and 5 minutes from the Village Market. Also on the plus side, the personnel were very helpful and friendly, my room was comfortable and the breakfast was good, especially the coffee (Kenyan of course). The decor was fine too and the house was clean. However there were a couple...

I have stayed at Gigiri Homestead on six different occasions when in Nairobi. It is always clean. The staff is attentive and food excellent- especially awaking to their great pancakes and a good cup of coffee. Whenever I needed information on the area, they were responsive. An excellent value of the cost with a staff that goes out of their...

I stayed two nights at Gigiri Homestead while on business at the nearby UN Compound at Gigiri. A torch is useful for the occasional power cut (I had one which fortunately did not last long; and the torch is useful if you walk out at night (see below). The Homestead itself is well-guarded and secure and in a suburb of...

I would definitely recommend staying at Gigiri Homestead: it is in the close vicinity of the UN compound and the Village Market (closer to the latter since the guesthouse moved mid-October); the rooms are nice and clean, the house is very comfy and the meals are excellent (prepared on the spot by the local cook). But the biggest asset of...

Whenever in Nairobi, there's no question about where to stay. The food is excellent, the staff is ever so friendly, quiet location, nice rooms, Village market with all the services one needs is just around the corner. I've tried quite a number of hotels/guest houses in Nairobi (in case Gigiri Homestead was fully booked) and Kenya, never had a better...

This hotel is just one fine experience, with great food, service and a wonderful location with fine rooms and great food three times a day. Violet is a big sweetheart and she will serve her most delicious dishes and deserts. The big garden in the backyard is a real asset amidst a secure area in one of the finest places...

I have never reviewed anything on TripAdvisor, but our stay at Gigiri Homestead really compelled me to do so. Right from the first minute at the homestead, we felt at home due to the warm welcome received. We particularly loved the serenity of the place, as well as the helpfulness of all staff. Pick the Master Ensuite! It is simply...
