This is one of the cheapest places to stay in Nairobi & the staff here were extremely friendly & helpful. The wifi worked well & we had hot water. But those are the only positives, the room is stuffy & the hotel is located in an awful part of Nairobi. Getting to & from the hotel is a nightmare. I was actually grabbed in the street near the hotel. I didn't feel safe at all & I would discourage travelers from staying here.

Sadly we didn't enjoy our stay that much at Kima Hotel. The rooms were acceptable but no toilet privacy and no hot water. The people were ok but not the kindest. The hotel is in a very busy area of Nairobi and we didn't feel comfortable outside the hotel. The taxi driver told us it was not really safe.

Room and bathroom really dirty. Food at the restaurant not very good. Before paying the room, they said I would have free wifi but they were lying. After that, they asked me to pay for a private internet card and promised they would refund me the money when I leave. They did not... Worst hotel I have ever been in Kenya.

Firstly I have to say that the staff at this hotel are absolutely first class, Nothing was too much trouble, responses to emails prior to our stay were fast and friendly in tone, we were made to feel very welcome indeed. The hotel itself was immaculately clean if a little dated which is to be expected in Africa so we don't mind. However, the area is not the best and it is not safe to go out at night. The staff very kindly pointed that out and ordered us a taxi. There is nowhere locally to eat out. There is no air conditioning in the rooms which was OK with us as we visited in July when the temperature is around 20C but when the weather is hot I can imagine it being unbearable. The reception is on the second floor and there are no lifts. We were allocated rooms on the 4th floor which was quiet until 6am when music was playing out in the street waking us up. The rooms have gaps under the doors and noise can be heard from other rooms because of this. Although I would not recommend this hotel, I cannot praise the staff highly enough for their kindness, friendliness and helpfulness, especially Queenvay - she was a delightful young lady who made us feel very welcome indeed. The wifi is very good, the beds are comfortable and the shower is very good.

Hardly any hot water in the shower and the flush toilet failed to work. Bathroom was far from being hygiene. The food served in the restaurant was bad and the plates were not clean. I DONT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL.
