It was such a thrill arriving at Lamu House. The tasteful furnishings and decor compliment the original Swahili architecture and give a sumptuous but down to earth feel. Our sea facing room (more like a suite) with comfy lounging chairs on the shaded balcony gave us the opportunity to enjoy the breathtaking views as well as the bustling promenade below,...

A great place to stay while in Old Town Lamu. Located in the central business street of the town with such a beautiful sea view. Room service is available and the staff are very friendly giving you that homely feel. The Moonrise restraunt offers sumptuous fresh sea food and there is quite a variety to choose from.

I really enjoyed returning to Lamu island after 18 years. It was my first stay at Lamu House. It came highly recommended by friends and colleagues. The rooms are real nice in Swahili style. It has a great view of the ocean. Sadly, the pollution in Lamu can make the experience of sitting on the balcony to enjoy the view...

I was so happy to have come across this exquisite, very pristine hotel on the Island of Lamu.... A unique place with so much to offer. Very clean, friendly staff and a delicious breakfast. Unfortunately the credit card terminal was down so I was forced to get cash from an ATM machine. I think the hotel should make arrangements with...

Lame House is a Swahili house hotel with a lot of charm and located on the waterfront of Lamu Island. The rooms are all different, well appointed, with all amenities that one would expect in a tourist hotel. Ask for the waterfront rooms, they are phenomenally airy and you will enjoy the island life hustle and bustle.

The Lamu House hotel is ideally located for those who prefer to enjoy the sea and also the feel of Lamu Town. Bang on the waterfront the rooms face the sea and let me tell you, you wouldn't need AC or fan if you keep the windows open. Strong breeze blow all throughout the day and night, thus waking one...

Stayed at the seafacing Lamu House in the stone town of Lamu and got the most beautiful seafacing room on the top floor. The balcony was big and the chairs cosy and the view stunning. Nice bathroom, good warm water and tasteful decorations. The property is well kept and beautiful in layout. I believe it is a traditional swahilihouse with...
