Undoubtedly the resort is neatly groomed, tidy and clean. The restaurant is in a long shape so the first two tables (one small one large) get to see the view, and occasionally baboons. Meals are wonderful. Waiters are polite and friendly. Service all over the resort is wonderful. They escort you back to your camp after dark. The inside of... More

We stayed in Ilkeliani for four nights at the very beginning of September. We had the best time and it basically ruined our following safari in three other camps because none could live up to our high expectations after Ilkeliani and the Masai Mara. The staff was really friendly always crossing fingers for us to see the animals we were... More

I recently spent 2 days at Ilkeliani Camp. What really makes this place special are the staff. They are so friendly and accommodating, and no request is ever too large. In order to get here you will need to fly into Olkiombo airstrip via Safarilink or one of the other airlines that fly into the Maasai Mara. Although their website... More

Stayed 2 nights at this camp situated just outside Masai Mara n.p. in Talek. Welcoming, friendly staff. Very good accomodation with all you need. Great 2 storey lounge/observation deck with endless views. Good food provided. Game viewing with Masai guide Nampaso very good. Able to find Leopards & Serville cats as well as Giraffes & Elephants. Just returned from 5 night stay in Ilkeliani Camp having twice previously stayed at Governors camp. This place is very well run with good food and friendly staff. Our guide Joseph was very good. All tents have a view of the Talek river and the mara plains beyond. Very safe with Masai guards to escort you round the camp after... More

The camp along the banks of Talek River has a nice location and the area is bushy enough.Tents on both sides of East and West are equally good an I love the ambiance. The staff very generous and helpful at all times and the manager is a humorous fella.

All these rates are based considering that we're in Kenya, so proportionally to the reality of the country :) We stayed at the Camp for three nights. These are our highlights and rates for them. Location, surroundings, landscape 10/10- The situation of the camp is fantastic, next to Talek river, you enter the camp from the Reserve by a hanging... More

Very friendly Masai staff, perfect location at the river bordering the Masai Mara. From the deck of your comfortable safari tent you have a good view on all kinds of wild life. The large elevated deck near the restaurant offers comfortable chairs and a splendid view. Our second time here felt like coming home.

The camp is in a great location for game drives, visiting the local Maasai Village and hot air ballooning. The tents are spacious, clean, well appointed with good bathroom facilities - hot showers, flushing toilets. There are also small balconies attached to each tent, ours with a view over the river. Toiletries are provided. The dining tent and separate lounge/relaxation... More

Our tent was located directly on the river bank, overlooking shrubbery abounding with bird life, monkeys, baboons and we were told, the occasional leopard. Views to the Wilderbeest plains. Although all tented facilities, everything was luxurious and spacious. Great restaurant with good service, Thanks Cynthia, Paul, James, Quento. Thanks chief Joseph. Excellent security, particularly at night where there was always... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Nestled in a riverine forest in the Masai Mara Game Reserve, the area is a favourite for elephants coming to drink from the Talek River. Ilkeliani camp consists of only 17 tents, each commanding views of the plains and the wildlife action throughout the day. The tented rooms are raised up slightly on earth mounds, overlooking the river and the plains. These mounds are covered in vegetation, and feel quite natural, and each one has been sited under its own cluster of shady indigenous trees and you do feel like you are out in the wilderness. The camp now has a suspension bridge for easy access to the reserve for early game drives ... more   less
