We took a tent for our 3 night stay which was the right choice, the accommodation was adequate, and although they describe them as tents they have stone built bathrooms and solid roofs, however this misses the point, the view from our tent verandah across the river was stunning. The downside is you don't have much time to look at...

We stayed at Fig Tree for 5 days during a self drive safari in October 2012. We had contacted Edna at the head office to reserve a tent overlooking the river, she was as good as her word and had arranged with the camp the necessary details. We found the tent was fine, clean and well furnished. Ample hot water,...

From the first time i contacted the Fig Tree sales team, everything was fantastic - Edna was fantastic in helping us to plan the trip, and was always quick to respond to our many questions and queries. At the lodge, we were kindly upgraded to the N class tents right on the Talek river - our tent was immaculate with...

I stayed here for the second time at the beginning of October, and as long as I can keep coming to Kenya I will keep coming back here time after time. It has a great location, with Hippos in the Talek river, just outside your tent. It uses Landcruisers not converted camper vans, has excellent drivers and guides, and is...

My wife and I spent a few nights here on our honeymoon. We were able to sleep well, we had an amazing game drive experience and the facilities were clean. The food wasn't the greatest but that was the only thing that could use improvement. Although the water was only on for a few hours a day, we didn't find...

We really enjoyed our 4 day stay at the Fig Tree Camp. The tents were very comfortable and overlook a river where we witnessed a crocodile wrestling with an impala dinner. The staff, from our waiter to our Masai guide Nixon were very friendly, funny and helpful. The game drives were excellent and we saw all the big five. Nixon...

A very good base for your safari. They use Landcruisers with open roofs and no windows and the driver we had whose name was Paul, knew all the best places to see the big 5 and more. The food was excellent at breakfast, lunch and dinner. The swimming pool was cold but very refreshing after a mornings game drive.

The Fig Tree Camp is located within the Masai Mara Reserve and, while its location is not anywhere near where the river crossings take place, it is far better off than than any of the camps that are outside the reserve. The tents we stayed in (the N series) command a wonderful view of the moat surrounding the camp and...

A nice quaint place to be inbetween the game drives. The river adjacent to our tent had Hippos which made the experience exquisite. The camp is a neat place which caters to all the basic needs and more. The best part is the personal touch that the staff provide and make you feel at home.
