My family and I were given exclusive stay in the private wing as a way to further mitigate covid risk. all protocols were in place, temperature checks, sanitiser, hygiene kits, masks even fogging the bags with disinfectant as they remove them from the cars.

The private wing is amazing, away from the main camp and also the river. The rooms are a little bit more basic but clean and comfortable. The communal area was phenomenal, a beautiful lounge, deck and fire place. The staff were amazing especially the waiters and chef who were able to cater for all our requirements (vegetarian, vegan, gluten free etc). How they make this sort of food in the middle of nowhere is mindblowing.

Not a fault of Entim we had a driver from Nairobi who wasn't as knowledgeable about the park as local guides. I would encourage guests to hire local masai drivers rather than those from Nairobi.

The camp we were supposed to stay at ended up getting flooded out during the abnormal rains at the end of January, so we got moved to Entim instead. And wow were we amazed at this camp! It’s beautiful! They welcomed us with a drink and cold cloth and we sat on the veranda overlooking the plains across the river. There are about 10-12 tents only so it’s nice that the camp is smaller and has a quiet, more intimate feel. The tents are gorgeous. Very clean and beautiful furniture. They closed our tent flaps in the evening and turned down our sheets and put a hot water bottle in our beds at night. We were given a complimentary bottle of wine, peanuts and tin of candies. In the morning they brought us tea/coffee/cookies before breakfast. The food was gourmet with multiple courses and tasted delicious. They had water coolers to get fresh, free water from as needed. We could see animals (Including giraffes) right from our tent deck and had buffalos outside our tent one morning. You could hear the hippos from the river at night. The Maasai guards guided us to our tent at night so we were safe. The showers were hot. They do turn off the power during the day, but that’s when you are on game drive anyway. Our devices all charged just fine in the evenings. The camp is in the middle of the reserve on the river so it was a good place to drive out from for game drives. Unfortunately during our stay the roads in Mara were horrible due to prolonged rains so that made it challenging getting to and from the camp and around the reserve. We still saw a lot of animals though. We loved our stay at Entim and highly recommend it to anyone!

We stayed in this amazing camp for 2 nights. The rooms are very comfortable, hot water bags were placed in beds which made it even more enjoyable for me. The food was outstandingly tasty including the breakfast and lunch boxes. The staff were very responsive, friendly and always there to provide their service. They had a very flexible approach for extending our check out time to enable us to shower after a morning game drive before our long flight.

One suggestion to make is it would be more convenient if the rooms had hair dryers. We had to borrow it from the reception, and there was only one in the camp.

This was a fantastic camp and handled everything incredibly professionally. This is a true 5* camp that nailed every aspect of our stay. For us, this qualified as a bucket list experience.

Tents: The tents were immaculately clean where I could comfortably walk around in bare feet, I cannot emphasize how clean this accommodation was. The shower was great and the bed sheets were incredibly soft which is quite a feat in the Mara. Pro tip: use the caribener that comes with the complimentary water bottle to latch the zipper pulls together at all times. There is a ridiculously clever baboon in the area that knows how to open tent zippers, and managed to completely open our tent while we were inside.

Service: The service was top notch with our main server very professional. We had a few mix ups with another fellow who struggled a bit with English, but we found the experience endearing more than anything else.

Food: The food was excellent, something I'd expect from a higher end restaurant, and nicely presented. If I had to make a suggestion, I would have less cream based soups and desserts for people who are lactose intolerant.

Guide: Our guide was Tinga, and though he seemed a bit disinterested at times, we wouldn't have traded him for anyone else. The plains were flooded during our stay but he had no problem getting us around and his driving skills were such that we never got stuck on our game drives (he was usually the one going around rescuing other drivers). He is the only one we would feel confident enough to entrust with our safety, and we knew that we could trust him to get us out of any situation. He also has an eye for photography and will help you get amazing photos

The Maasai Mara is a great choice for people going on their first safari, as well as more seasoned safari goers. The amount of wildlife you will see is absolutely incredible. You will have a great time seeing the big cats, especially lions as there are several large prides in the area.

I'd definitely recommend that everyone make staying at Entim Camp a priority if you're looking to stay in the Maasai Mara.

Entim camp is a magical, luxurious camp right on the Mara River, the views are breathtaking! Everything from the delectable meals, the impeccable service of the camp staff (especially David and the chef who went over and above our expectations), the quality of accommodation, the decor and warmth of the camp was nothing short of incredible. Sanitisation protocols at the camp were followed and the whole experience was one where we felt safe. On the whole our experience was a phenomenal one and we will definitely be returning and recommending Entim to all our friends and family.

We booked to stay at Entim for 3 nights on an all inclusive basis. They arranged flights from Wilson Airport to the airstrip in Maasai with Safarilink (an excellent company).

Our stay at Entim was just wonderful. The tent we were in was beautiful. It was spacious, comfortable and so appealing. We were woken with coffee and cookies in the morning before our game drives, we were treated with hot water bottles at night, and we were welcomed by all the staff.

We miss Entim. The staff were so lovely and so eager to please. The food was wonderful. The game drives were excellent (thank you Brian and Maurice). Despite only being there 3 days we saw the entire 'big 9' - elephant, leopard, buffalo, lion, zebra, cheetah, giraffe, hippo and even the black rhino.

I would really recommend staying at the camp. I would definitely tell people to stay there. The whole experience was fantastic.

Thank you to all the staff who made our stay so wonderful.

The Entim Mara camp was the most luxurious "camping" experience one could imagine. The tents are wonderfully decorated, the beds are super comfortable, and each tent has its own flushing toilet and hot water shower. The camp has something like 9-10 tents and is located far away from the larger lodges so the atmosphere is quiet and intimate. The staff were wonderful, super friendly, and catered to every small need or want. The food was very good and beautifully presented. It was provided as a set menu, although there were choices for the entree. The camp overlooks a river and you can see and hear the hippos below at various hours of the day. A favorite little perk was a live wake-up call during which hot coffee is hand-delivered. Our stay was organized through a tour company, so I cannot say how much the room rate actually is, but given the price we paid for the upgraded lodging, I imagine the rates are quite expense. Nevertheless, the camp exceeded expectations and it felt like we got our money's worth. We would heartily recommend for travelers wanting the luxury safari experience

This camp offers more than we had dreamed of – awesome game drives, a unique location, terrific food and the kindest staff.

We felt very welcome and at ease with staff that were very kind and always observant to our every need. Even the morning coffee was served in our tent with a big smile at 05.30.

Our guide John knew the Mara by heart and had the best eyes imageable. He spotted even the most rare animals for us to see, for example a leopard eating its prey in the top of a tree, a cheeta going in for a kill and numerous herds of elephants, giraffes and lions. Every drive was an exceptional experience that will live with us forever.

And the wildlife even lived right outside our camp thanks to the unique location by the Mara River. The river offered not only a spectacular view when dining, we also woke up to Hippos bathing and fell asleep to their grunts and grass eating right outside our tent. A sound blanket we will never forget. And we still slept very peacefully because a Masai was guarding us the whole night through and escorted us when we needed to leave the tent in the dark.

Our tent was very spacious and modern with our own bathroom and a little deck. The camp has only 12 tents, so the whole atmosphere is peaceful.

We love good food and the chef Jimmy offered the best restaurant experience we have had in Kenya. Each plate was carefully designed to be a delight for the eyes as well as for the tastebuds. Breakfast, lunch and dinner offered a variety of choices with great options for vegetarians. If possible we would go to the Mara Camp just to enjoy a wonderful meal.

We can’t recommend the Entim Mara Camp enough. Go!
Kind regards Linda and Mette

I visited the Masai Mara in September for 3 nights. It was an unforgettable experience in terms of being so close to start to the Mara for the 6am Morning Safari.

Packed lunch was more a feast then a lunch and I will always remember how Jimmy the the Chef catered for my vegetarian needs 🌱 .

Coming back to a warm hot water bottle and an immaculate room each night was very nice as it got quite cold in the evenings.

Many thanks to Juliet and the whole team - will definitely be coming back with my family to share the unique experience.

Tim

We stayed her a week in August as part of a small photo safari. The camp sits on a river we were able to see 2 crossings. The camp staff tracks the herd as they get close to the river bank and keeps the vehicles close and they came and got us and we had an amazing experience. One crossing was small but one lasted over 30 minutes. No other vehicles around as the best views are on the property.

We stayed in the private part of the camp. The main area was lovely and very comfortable. They had a fire pit and we had drinks and appetizers each night. I cannot say enough about the food. It was the best I have ever had at any safari camp or lodge. Jimmy, the chef, provided us delicious food and so much variety. The soups were great and everything he prepared was wonderful. My husband remarked that if Jimmy opened a restaurant he'd be there all the time if we lived close by.

The trackers (John Mark and Tinka) were great. They did a great job of finding all the big five plus so much more. They knew exactly where to place the vehicle to get the best pictures. We say hyenas, lions with cubs, leopards with cubs, cheetahs, a lion kill, crocodiles, wildebeest, elephants, buffalo, and the list goes on and on. But, it was the water crossings that were the highlight of the trip.

The tent itself is comfortable. The bed was very firm but comfortable. They had bottled water to use to brush teeth, plenty of space for clothes, a nice little outside patio with two chairs and a table, etc. They put hot water bottles each night during turndown service which was wonderful as it was cold. The only thing that took some getting used to was the hot water. It was scalding and they did brief us on how to make it a manageable temperature for a shower.

For our group we had cocktails and appetizers one night out in the bush at sunset which was wonderful. Breakfast was always part of the game drive stop so we did not waste time going back to the lodge. Lunch and dinner was in the main outside area.

We had a wonderful time as all the staff took great care of us. We will be returning to Entim the next time we are on safari in the Masai-Mara. Overall it was a wonderful camp with top notch service and 5 star food.

What are the tipping requirements at the camp?
Answer from Jack B.

While there are no requirements per se, we tip our room steward $10/day, our waiter or waitress $5 per sit down meal and the Maasai who walk us to and from our tent in the dark $1 for every trip. If they are carrying bags then $2-3. We also leave money in the staff tip box at the end of the trip. $10 pp/day or so. We just left there two days ago on another trip. This is the best camp in Kenya.
