If you're from the West, you'd be disgusted with this hotels cleanliness or lack there of. Room was not vacuumed and the floors were visibility dirty. I was here two nights in two separate rooms and both of them were filthy. The entire place was so smoky (even for China). Location is good though, so if you never plan on...

Stayed at this hotel for three nights. The staff at the reception were polite and helpful. One of them could speak English. I stayed in the deluxe room which was spacious and the toilet was clean and had all the toiletries as compliments. The cleanliness of the bed linen and towels deserves special mention. The a/c in my room was...

It was a nice stay at the City Center! Rooms were clean and staffs were very cordial. I had a problem openning my luggage lock and they cleared it in their maintenance shop at the basement. Forbidden city is in the vicinity and the tour manager from the hotel was very caring indeed.

We liked this not very big, but nice, clean hotel with various tasty breakfast and near city center. Close with one small chinese restaurant. Quite easy to reach big street with shops and small street with baked scorpions, snakes and other brr on wood stick. Close with Tiananmen place and imperators town.

I'll start with the rooms- we actually stayed here on two different reservations. On our first night, we showed up and they didn't have our reservation. Luckily, I had the email confirmation and they were able to honor it, however, they didn't have any more standard rooms so we were upgraded to one of the executive rooms on the top...

We booked this hotel by Expedia for 80 US, but if you buy it on reception desk the price is about 400US. Hotel is in very calm street with a lot of green around and close to Tiamen and metro line. Even that it looks nice from outside, rooms are old and had already better times. Staff was ok but...

Stayed here for a couple of nights recently and although the hotel gets a bad rapt it is not that bad. Bedding must have been replaced as sheets and underblanket were new. A tip for anyone who goes to China - all the bed are very hard - its part of the culture, but they are good for your back,...

Everything of interest was within walking distance (or a short MRT ride), the Forbidden City, the Silk Market, the Temple of Heaven, Tian'an Men Square. The rooms were a decent size, clean and comfortable. An early breakfast is available with both Chinese and Western foods.

The location of the hotel is idea; within a healthy walking distance to many attractions and yet in a quite and safe location. However, the rooms have strong cigarette odor, even "non-smoking" rooms. As with many dated hotels in China, there are no dedicated smoking rooms. When you ask for a non-smoking room, they do a "smoking free treatment", which...

The Dongjiao Mingxiang met my basic requirements of clean sheets, clean towels and hot water. The room was fairly contemporary and the breakfast excellent with a variety of western and Chinese dishes; however, the internet was only free in the lobby. The location was decent - it was only about a 15-minute walk to Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and...
