If you want to experience how the Chinese live in Beijing, you should go to this hotel. In the middle of a Hutong, which are residential neighbourhoods in the center of Beijing, you do not see highrises nor large hotel chains. The streets are very narrow, and the people very friendly. Plus, everywhere there are small restaurants with excellent food....

Nice little hotel in a hutong (alley). Though it's a bit difficult to find like most hotels in China, it's very well located. You need to walk a bit to reach the Gulou (closest) subway station, but it still is a good experience. It seems to be run by a family and you can tell that they are eager to...

Good place within the Hutong. Houhai lake is very close as well as the drum & bell towers. A perfect start to discover Beijing. They must clarify the "double room" aspect because it is very difficult to fit in their double bed when you are a couple...

I lived in Beijing for ten years, then I moved to the States. Honestly I have never experienced living in hutong and siheyuan (local house). I invited one colleague (an American) to China this summer and I booked this hotel for us. This hotel didn't let us down. Located in a quite hutong and some walk to subway line 2...

We spend one week at this smaller hotel, and we enjoyed it so much. Though we visited Beijing in the winter time our room was always hot and nice, and the decorations are so beautiful. There is hot water and a tv in the room, no fridge but we just left our water and food outside the room without problems....

The hotel is not far from the subway stations. I love the relaxing atmosphere that I able to chat and lay on the sofa at the courtyard. Rooms are clean, no issue of sharing hot water. There are many nice local eateries, cafe, etc along the way.

When we arrived the woman at the desk was really rude and angry with me cause it had been something wrong with my booking, so it turned out I booked two rooms. I had just got one confirmation, but saw that my bank had charged it twice. So I asked her what to do about it, and she was just...

Citycourtyard hotel is good with daily housekeeping. Rooms are small but very neat, clean and well maintained. Hotel is 15 mins walking from subway station. It's a little difficult to find in the first place as located in a small lane. Wifi is complimentary in the room.

All the previous reviews hit it pretty much right on the mark. I am just confirming that the staff are very friendly and helpful, but that it is a real pain to find the place. I would recommend to take a taxi or subway to Andingmen subway station, and then take an electric rickshaw (or moto-cher) the rest of the...
