This hotel was our first during our trip through China. It was a very very good experience to be here. The staff is really helpfull and speak a very reasonable amount of english (far more and better than my chinese -_^). The hotel is in an alley near a very nice and busy tourist street (where you can go crazy...

Stayed at this hotel in June '11 for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. From arrival to departure hotel staff were all super friendly and helpful, telling us about the local area, how to get about and the best things to see and do. The hotel is so peaceful considering it's in the centre of the most populated city...

I had read so many excellent reviews about this hotel on tripadvisor that I decided to book a room for 2 nights. It was one of the best decisions I have made! It was exactly everything that I expected--traditional Chinese yet with a clean, comfortable room & modern conveniences. The free breakfast had enough fruits, pastries, etc. for even my...

A real haven of peace in the midst of the coolest bit of hutong Beijing. This is not an "executive" style hotel at all, but the rooms are comfortable and characterful, the breakfasts are superb, the setting is relaxing and charming, the staff are helpful and smiling and the location is perfect. Just off Nangluoguxiang Alley, an easy walk to...

If you want to experience China from an Asian perspective and not the western hotel chain approach -- this is your place. It may be a bit difficult to find -- but that's a small, minor inconvenience. Great rooms, great service, fantastic breakfasts, beautiful courtyards, air conditioning in the rooms for those steamy hot Beijing days, free wifi, and smack...

This renovated courtyard building makes you feel like you're really in China, not in a generic hotel that could be anywhere in the world. The rooms were very comfortable, and had fridges, wifi, and excellent air conditioning. Breakfast lways had fresh fruit, pastries, yogurt and cooked to order eggs, and my son was thrilled to find American-style breakfast cereal (but...

It was exactly as it looked in the pictures. Our room was huge (bigger than I expected based on the reviews) and the bathroom was great. But the best part was the staff. In a country where we needed a mandarin phrase book to get a taxi to the airport – the staff here had great English and were always...

An awe inspiring gem of a place, hidden amongst the dusty old streets of Beijing. If it's authenticity you're after, with service to rival any 5* hotel, them this is the place. The second we arrived, 2 tiny ladies with the power of Rambo lifted our back breaking cases out of the taxi and through to our rooms. We simply...

Totally stunned by the beauty of the beautiful courtyard right in the middle of the busy hutongs. Smiles everywhere of the staff. We had a unforgetable stay. Our special thanks to Gyan Gao who first fixed our problem of getting a taxi to thr station as our travelagent forgot about us and then 3 minutes before departure came running in...
