Great bathroom, really BAD room temperature control. Room is ok but feels old. Bathrooms are huge and no complaints there. But the rooms are HOT. There is no way to cool them down and for someone like me, it is unbearably warm. Refrigerator keeps every thing luke warm, not cold. Breakfast buffet is very limited compared to other 4 and 5 star hotels in the area. The hotel amenities are good (gym, pool, restaurants).

We stayed at the Crowne Plaza for 5 nights for my partner’s work. The location is ok though not the best spot for being a tourist. In saying that, it is only a 5 minute walk to 2 subway stations, and the furthest tourist site I visited (the Temple of Heaven) was an hour away. Other sites such as the Olympic Park and the summer Palace were around 20 minutes away which wasn’t too bad. Our room was spacious and clean, but could have used some modernising, though perhaps that’s personal taste. Breakfast in the morning offered a wide selection of both western and Asian foods. I used the gym and this too had a good selection of equipment. Nearby was a 7-11 (2 mins walk), and a larger shopping mall with a range of food options, was about a 10 min walk away. Staff were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our stay.

I've been coming to this hotel for the past five years as it's very convenient for work. The rooms are indeed spacious and while the decor is dated, it's not unpleasant. However, the hotel seems to have a restrictive policy on using the air conditioning and the rooms get can be quite warm even when the weather is cool. (As I write this in mid-October it's 25 degrees in my room and I have a fan going, despite it being about 15 degrees outside). I'll ask the front desk if the air conditioning system is operating and they will say yes, but despite the thermostat being set at 16 degrees, the actual temperature runs 23-25. If you don't like warm stuffy rooms it can make for an unpleasant stay. Some rooms have windows that open just a crack, while others don't, but between the air pollution and constant traffic noise, that's not a great solution. The air conditioning does operate in summer, I think from around May to September, but if you're familiar with Beijing you know it can often get hot for about half the year. On quite a few stays I've also had rooms where the toilet emitted a foul odour. I managed to avoid that on this latest stay, but if one does have such a room for more than two days, it can get quite old. On the plus side, the staff are all quite nice, and if you have access the the Club Lounge you'll find the people there helpful and friendly as well. I want to like this hotel, but it's disappointed me too many times. On my most recent stay I was due to stay here five days, but checked out after two because I was just too uncomfortable to get a decent night's sleep. It would be great if IHG saw fit to update the furnishings and invest in a decent climate control system.

Excelent room, plenty of space even for couples, very clean, and good furniture and accesories such as minibar. Internet is decent but open. Be careful with the Italian restorant as it is a independent facility of hotel, so you cannot charge the bill at the room, food is just OK and the service regular. Pleople at the front desk and in general is very kind and willing to help. Location is good near the lines 4 and 10 of the subway, which is good to visit places of interest like Tianamen.

I stayed 4 nights, had a fantastic room with plenty of space and a large bathroom, including a great bath. Breakfast options were endless from local fare to European/ English breakfast and the coffee was also super. The concierge was really helpful and always willling and able to assist (in English) whenever we needed it. Highly recommended
