We (2 adults + 1 child) took an executive twin room for 5 nights.
Room: large room with a view of the old city wall and a large bathroom with a bathtub and shower; the shower door was always left ajar, so the floor sometimes got wet, very few options for hanging towels (there is only one hook in the bathroom); beds approx. 120-140cm; bathrobes available. Furniture seems a bit old-fashioned, otherwise everything is clean and functional.
SPA area 3rd floor: swimming pool is free for guests. Swimming pool is in good condition. When swimming you have to wear a swimming cap, which you can buy for 28 RMB at the entrance. The rest of the SPA area seems very neglected: jacuzzi doesn't bubble, but at least it is pleasantly warm. Steam bath and sauna in the women's area were not in use (the men's area apparently was). Some showers were closed, there was a bit of limescale everywhere.
In the laundry room there are self-service washing machines and dryers, and detergent is also provided. Unfortunately, the devices can only be started via Alipay or WeChat => someone at the front desk can help you if you don't have either app.
On the ground floor there are three large restaurants, smaller snack bars, a small supermarket and a fruit shop. I can highly recommend the restaurant "Mashi Casserole" opposite the front desk (hotel guests get a discount).
Breakfast is available for 80 RMB per person (children under 120 cm eat for free). It is a good mix of western/English and Chinese breakfast by Chinese standards.
The hotel is also very conveniently located in terms of transport, with its proximity to Beijing Railway Station. Buses, subway line 2 and most trains leave from there.
All in all, you get a lot for your money. The hotel has the shortcomings typical of China. In terms of stars, I would rate it between 3 and 4. I would stay here again.

The hotel is very large, a huge lobby, the reception are very friendly but speak quai zero English.
The rooms... are large, comfortable, nice large bathroom with shower and marble bathtub, but the cleanliness of the rooms leaves something to be desired.
On our first entrance we found fingers and fingers on the glass of the table and on the shower, a sign that no thorough cleaning was carried out.
During the first day of my stay of 5 days. I broke a bracelet of beads that scattered everywhere in the room... and after 2 days they were still there!
I had to ask the reception to let me do thorough cleaning, and so it was for the remaining days of my stay.
Hearty breakfast for the Chinese, but for us Europeans nothing sweet except croissants that seemed stale.
Metro station 1 a 10-minute walk, which goes directly to Tiennamen Square (5 min.) and the universal Studios (50 min.).
I still recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for 1 night whilst in transit in Beijing.
We took the train from the airport to hotel, you have to do a connection but really easy and only took about 40 mins and cost £5 each ! (You can not pay on card get yen)
Check in was ok not the warmest of greetings but checked in all the same.
The room was massive , clean , bed was comfortable . We thought it was great value for money.
There are lots of options for food near the hotel , but please ensure you have cash.
All in all a nice stay and would stay again

We chose the Pudi because of its proximity to the Beijing Railway station and that was great - you can easily walk there with luggage. However the rest of the experience is really not worthy of 5 stars and if you are looking for that in Beijing probably skip this hotel. In its favour the rooms were relatively spacious and clean, but that is about all it has going for it. I booked an executive lounge room and the lounge is a repurposed section of the lobby bar with a few scraps of dodgy looking food. Whilst some of the staff tried to be helpful, others spent more time responding to posts and alerts on their personal mobile phones. There was an air of confusion and inefficiency together with a lack of expert knowledge or assistance. The concierge asked another guest to explain how to get to the station to us. If you are looking for a high level hotel in Beijing this is not it. But if you are happy with a reasonable room and not much else, go for it.

We recently returned from our fifth (or sixth?) stay at the Beijing Marriott City Wall Hotel. We travel on vacation and have made several trips to China in large part because of the excellent hotels we have discovered.
This hotel is large, well maintained, clean and well run. The senior management staff spends a large amount of time in the lobby interacting with guests. When we have wanted sightseeing tips or restaurant suggestions they have given practical advice backed up with profile sheets and directions in English and Mandarin Chinese. The second part is important because taxi drivers speak little or no English.
The hotel is as elegant as a five star hotel in London, only much less expensive because your dollar goes very far in China. The beds are extremely comfortable, the bathrooms large and come with plenty of fluffy towels, robes and slippers. There’s an evening turndown service.
Higher categories of room include access to the Executive Lounge. This is also a perk at certain Marriott Rewards levels. I think you can pay a little extra to gain access, although I’m not sure. The Lounge does an incredible breakfast buffet plus drinks and munchies in the evening. It’s far superior to any concierge lounge experience we’ve come across in the US or Europe. This is a feature that’s done very well in China.
Does the hotel have drawbacks? Yes. Beijing is huge. It’s not a walking city. Practically speaking you will want to take taxis to and from the hotel. The good news is your taxi from the hotel will cost about $ 2-3 US dollars to most nearby locations. The bad news is the taxi you flag down for the return ride often wants to negotiate a higher rate in order to pick you up.
There are two subway/metro stops nearby, but they are a bit of a hike.
The hotel is in a large office complex that is undergoing some renovation. This isn’t the loud noise type renovation, but the lobby level restaurants are closed. The City Bistro restaurant has relocated to the second floor. It’s reasonably priced for traditional Chinese dishes.
We keep coming back because the staff makes an extra effort to interact with guests and help make their stay memorable, without being intrusive.

This is a beautiful property. Very swanky. It is within walking distance to both the Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven, although both are not exactly close. It is not far to the nearest subway station. It is near the Beijing Railway Station, but that place is pretty crazy all times of the day and night. There are all kinds of restaurants within walking distance. The breakfast buffet is kind of expensive and not really memorable, but a convenient way to start your day. Our only real complaint is that it seems quite difficult to get a taxi. I don't know if it is the location or what. The first time we gave up after thirty minutes and walked. The second time was a little better, even though we had specifically asked to have a cab ready at a certain time.

After my horrible stays in the Dalian hotels, I flew back to Beijing expecting the same. But to my surprise, the staff (from front desk to concierge ) were friendly and this really changed my impression of bad service in China hotels. At last, there is one hotel in China that can live up to its reputation. I was very happy and for sure the next time I fly back to Beijing, I am definitely staying in this hotel.

We were here on a China Spree tour, so we did not search for the perfect hotel ourselves, but we were very pleased with the Marriott. The pool area was beautiful and not crowded, and the kids had fun here and in the spa area. The breakfast buffet was the best we had in China, and the rooms were very nice. Two complimentary bottles provided in room as water not drinkable in China.

My husband has traveled to China on business several times, and really wanted us to go there for our anniversary. This was my first time to China, and my first trip without our kids in 25 years! I would recommend this Marriott to anyone visiting China.
The hotel staff was very helpful and speaks English well. We upgraded to a suite, which included access to the Executive Lounge. I highly recommend this upgrade. The breakfast in the lounge always had Chinese noodles, fried rice and dim sum, along with waffles, hash browns, fresh fruit, baked items cooked to order omelets and a variety of other foods. Each day it varied a little bit, so it didn't grow tiresome, and was a great way to get ready to venture out for a day of exploring. The staff in the lounge was excellent. We usually arrived back to the hotel in the evening in time for appetizers, which were so extensive, we rarely went to dinner.
The room itself was always spotlessly clean. The funny thing was you never saw the cleaning staff. They were completely unobtrusive and efficient. No vacuum running in the halls or pressure to vary your schedule to accommodate the cleaning staff.
Guest rooms and the lounge had Wi-Fi, although the connection was sometimes spotty. We had skype set up to keep in touch with our kids and this worked well most of the time. The internet was not what you experience in the US - Facebook and Twitter are blocked, along with things like pictures of the poor air quality - what you have access to see is controlled. All our incoming text messages came through just fine, but texts sent from our computers would not go through. Our skype connection would frequently disconnect, but it was still the most reliable method of keeping in touch.
As others have mentioned, it is sometimes hard to get a taxi at the hotel. We usually opted for the subway, which was a short walk away. The gold dome on top of the Marriott made it easy to spot - always easy to find your way back to when on foot.
We spent 8 days here and it was a wonderful home away from home.

We stayed three days in this big hotel before an Asian cruise. A portion of The Old Beijing City Wall is right outside the front door. The bed was very comfortable. A bottle of water/person was provided in the bathroom each day for drinking and brushing of teeth, as tap water was not potable. On the second day I finally discovered a button that closed the blinds in the bathroom window that looked into the bedroom. We ate in the breakfast buffet - lots of food variety and very good. We took bus tours every day, so am not aware of places near the hotel. The Staff was very friendly and spoke English. We could convert our dollars to local currency at the front desk - was cheaper than doing it at the airport.

I imagine so, I'd email in advance to make sure, they're pretty responsive on emails :)
I don t know the price of the executive lounge. But I definitely don't recommend the breakfast. Breakfast is served in a restaurant adjacent to hotel it is not the hotel s restaurant. Was not very inviting!
I stay at the Beijing Marriott Hotel City Wall that has a Chinese Name Beijing Pudi Hotel. The Marriott website has been down for a couple of days. The mobile site does work. You can call the local number in your country and the representative can assist you with contacting the hotel or try the SPG website and use their chat.
