Have to find someone to reserve this former residence of royalty during the Qing Dynasty. This is a top-class exclusive hotel that has housed many foreign government dignitaries and super VIPs. You will be treated like royalty class service.

I have had the privilege of being a guest of the Diaoyutai State Guest House five different times between 2001 and 2008. It represents the highest standard of Chinese hospitality. Everything about the guest experience is outstanding. Now that it is open to the public I would recommend this Diaoyutai experience of outstanding meals and lodging.

Our group joined a special-arranged lunch at Diaoyutai State Guest House during our visit to Beijing last week. The guesthouse compound is really large comprising of some 20 villas, each with individual bridges, ponds and landscapes of its own. In some villas, spacious conference rooms with nice decorations are provided for the VIPs and we have also strolled around a few of them during our stay there. The venue for our lunch is beautiful and food quality of high standard. A good experience to visit the State Guesthouse and have lunch thereat as well.

I was staying as part of the official delegation from 25-26 July. They charged me a deposit for 12,000 RMB, and after 3 nights there, the expenses was only around 7,300 RMB. They never returned the rest of the fund until today, not even replying my email.

Also, the security was excessive. We had a hard time moving between buildings even though we were the only official delegates staying there at that time.

So this place has hosted more than 100 foreign delegates - President Xi Jinping hosting president Putin here in May. The grounds are lovely and the villas are gigantic. There was a lovely hall and service staff. I came here for a private dinner - food was great with all 10 courses and us eating too much. It's much nicer than other food we ate because it wasn't too oily and just right.

I was invited to stay at the exclusive Diaoyutai State Guesthouse on a visit to Beijing. The stay was arranged by the State authorities who I was a guest of. I was informed that the Diaoyutai had been the accommodation favoured by visiting monarchs, Presidents, State leaders and VIPS for more than a half century.
The Diaoyutai does resemble a State guesthouse from the outside and inside, I was provided a lavishly equipped, modern room with all amenities. A selection of fresh fruit and chocolates was waiting and a turndown service provided nightly. The bathroom was visible from the bedroom and a very large LED screen TV was tiltable for viewing from either the bedroom or bathroom - a luxury that I had not seen recently in other five star hotels. There was some difficulty communicating with hotel staff whose comprehension of English was not perfect. However hotel staff were always warm and courteous. The guesthouse itself has been lovingly renovated and its period architecture sits in harmony with lavish modern fittings and furnishings - reeking of an exclusivity and elegance quite befitting its VIP clientele. US Presidents and visiting Heads of State have all been apparently hosted here and the presence of state security personnel was clearly evident throughout but they made a genuine effort at remaining relatively unobtrusive. Interestingly, the Guesthouse is not publically accessible unless you are an official guest of a State authority.

What an amazing place. It is a huge compound with about 20 villas spread conveniently all over the place. Each villa is surrounded by lakes, bridges, beautiful gardens and waterfalls.
In each villa you will have 2 floors of gorgeous rooms and suites.
The service is impeccable
From what I understood the place is designed mostly for formal delegations and conventions , but recently has opened several rooms for private booking.
Only minus to the place is the fact that it is a rather long ride from the center of the city, which is heavy trafficked most of the day
Enjoy!

Was there on business in late January. The snow came in the second day of the conference. What a difference it made! The compound is pretty big but walking is quite manageable and well worth it. I walked towards one of the gates and took some shots of the sunrise and I was well rewarded!

I went here for a large customer event. The setting is nice,... As soon as you enter the place you are in a pleasant surrounding. There are great water features. The villa/massive building in which we where was rich decorated. It is a privilege to experience this. Go if you have the chance!

Huge residence in the park, with hundreds of the guards and villas - actually almost palaces hidden in the woods. Inside you find huge hall for documents signing, rooms for official negotations and dining halls. Food is fabtastic and excuisite, service perfect

But you can get there as a part of official event only. Its not a hotel as such
