Enjoy your stay in Beijing!
This place is more a hostel, not a hotel. Location is at the end of a small alley in a hutong. Rooms are small and you hear every noise in the patio. Breakfast is meager and served as of 8AM. 2 times no hot water in the morning. Reception guy was very helpful though in arranging cabs and a SIM card for my phone. Close to the subway.
Location - within a quiet & friendly neighbourhood. Safe & nice to walk around, even during night hours. Easy to travel to the rest parts of the cities with quick access to 2 subway stations (XiSi and LingJingHutong) & bus stops. Convenient to get variety of local foods, restaurants & also fast foods from the nearby mall. Hotel - Ancient courtyard house concept yet practical for modern living. Facilities are just enough for a comfortable & relax stay.
Very good hotel in a traditional hutong. Good value for money and great space to sit , eat and write your travel diary! very nicely decorated too. We had a problem with the toilet one day and the owner immediately sorted it for us. Highly recommended!
This is a great place to stay. I have a very great experience with Dean who is helpful to introduce the tour package. Not only Dean is helpful. I must really thanks and appreciate the housekeeper who is honest to place my valuables back even I have forgot to bring it out with me. I think it is really nice to be surrounded by honest and sincere people.
This was the second time we stayed here. Mark is not there anymore butt his replacement ( I forgot his name) was equally qualified. Still a good place and good location. Close to the subway and a lot of restaurants and shops nearby.
The hotel is situated in a Hutang area (narrow alleys between rows of single-storey Siheyuan dwelled by Beijingers in the past). Kellys Courtyard is not far from the Tiananmen and the Forbidden City; we walked but he subway is nearby. The hotel owner is extremely helpful and patient. He advised us on taking the public transport to the Great Wall. On the roof of the hotel there are benches for the visitors to relax in the open air. There is an efficient and inexpensive laundry service. I felt like Marco Polo visiting Beijing in 1200. Walking at night in the small streets back to the hotel one sees old and young people playing cards and other games. No one watches television. People are extremely friendly in helping with address. Kelly’s courtyard is clean and friendly. There is always free tea and Chinese cookies in the yard. Because the yard is small the communication with other travelers is easy. When I go back to Beijing again I hope to stay here.…
This is the place you want to stay in Beijing. It is a 30-minute walk to Tiananmen Square, ten minutes to the subway and 20 minutes to the most Boughie malls ever. But that's not why you need to stay here. The reason to stay here is Dean and the other travellers staying there. Dean is the greatest host you will find. He met our car coming in and set up cars when we needed. He made us feel welcome and told us places to eat. When you come back after a fun day of running around, you can sit in the atrium and meet people from all over the world. We had South Africans, kiwis, Canucks and us Americans. It was the greatest. The rooms are nice, with air conditioning in each. Dean has water and drinks available on the honor system. Very safe, and welcoming.
first trip to china and wanted a quante little local accomadation to see and meet old Beijing and bingo kelly's was all the above. very cute with great honest service. very close to all the houtong area of locals .. very safe area ..
Super cute courtyard and guestrooms tucked away in one of Beijing's little hutongs. The place is clean, quaint and comfortable. There's also laundry service on site and a second floor balcony for public use. Not to mention cheap beers and snacks we can enjoy at the courtyard in the evenings. It's also a 7-minute walk to two subway stations, very convenient. We felt very safe during our stay. Most importantly, Dean, who manages the place is super attentive, accessible and helpful. He went above and beyond to help us research bus routes for a more remote part of the Great Wall we were trying to visit and helped us arrange payments for tour we booked when we couldn't do it ourselves using Wechat/Allipay.
Located in a hutong about 10 minutes walk from the nearest metro station. The area is quite and peaceful at night. Tiananmen square and the forbidden city are about 2.5 km away. Plenty of good restaurants are within walking distance, as well as a supermarket. The rooms all face the central courtyard where breakfast is served (pastries, juice and good brewed coffee). Rooms are beautifully decorated and the beds are comfortable with plenty of charging points. The bathroom and toilet was clean though a tad bit small. It's Asian style so prepare to get everything wet when you shower. Dean is the host and he is pretty much there all the time and is super helpful. He can help you book all tickets and show you the ropes of handling travelling in China. Highly recommended
