The hotel is dated and has a musty odor. My room was large, and the hot water works in the shower. There are no foreign TV channels - no BBC or CNN. The internet works but is not fast. The breakfast is just OK, but does have an Italian espresso machine. The bed was kind of hard.

The hotel is located in a building also containing offices of various NGO and governmental associations and meeting rooms. Many of its visitors are there for conferences or exchange programs, including many students. It is a good choice if that is your purpose in visiting, not a particularly good choice for the average tourist. Both rooms in which we stayed... More

My host at Beijing Normal University booked a few nights accommodation for my academic visit. The room was enormous (I think he booked a larger room type), easily twice the size of the last hotel room I stayed at in Hong Kong. Furnishings are rather old but well maintained. The bathroom is large with full sized bathtub, shower and very... More

I stayed a week in Jingshi Hotel invited by Beijing Normal University. I agree with other reviews that it is a perfect place if your activities are mostly centered at the University, and reasonably well-communicated by subway to the center (about 40 min). Jishuitan subway stop is about 1 km from the hotel along a noisy street, so the bus... More

The Jingshi hotel is an OK place to stay in Beijing. It has everything that one needs for a cheap but OK stay in the capital of China. However you should not expect a first class hotel. The rooms are clean and the bed and bath are functional. In room cable internet is free. Yet, the equipment of the rooms... More

The facilities were quite alright. For someone visiting the University it is very convenient and it is also pretty much very well situated with regard to access to transport. I had no trouble with A/C and the room was very clean. They also provide a rich buffet breakfast. My major issue was that, in spite of the fact that I... More

I stayed in this hotel 25 days as the guest of Beijing Normal University, where I was working. This is probably the longest time I have stayed in a hotel, and I found it relaxing, pleasant and even enjoyable. The hotel is on the top five floors of a building that has several other functions, including being the centre for... More

I believe you can't even book this hotel unless someone from BNU does it for you. I stayed there in June 2012 during a weeklong visit to BNU (hotel was paid for by my host). The rooms are OK, with free wired Ethernet (no WiFi), and I didn't experience the smell problem some other reviewer noted, and my AC worked... More

This is the hotel of Beijing Normal University used for visiting academics and as such I did not have to pay for my stay myself. The room was large but rather shabby and old fashioned. The drains smelt awful and no amount of airing the room fixed this. The room was very stuffy and we could not get air con... More

This hotel is called Jingshi Hotel and it's in the Jingshi Building on the campus of Beijing Normal University. But it's not the same as the other Jingshi Hotel listed on tripadvisor.com. Anyway, this is the best hotel on the campus of Beijing Normal University, so if you're being put up here, it's fine. The room is reasonably clean; there... More

“Rooms on the west side of the hotel have a better view although I am not sure about the noise as they are above a busy road. Maybe you could chose one of the top floors.”
