The hotel and room itself were good; however, the bathroom situation was not. I stayed here 5 nights. I believe I was in room 206, and I can't say for the other rooms, but the bathroom was mildew-y and moldy. It was one of those showers where only half of the shower has a glass separation to the rest of... More

This hotel is an excellent hotel. The way the rooms are set out around a courtyard helps give the whole hotel a lot of character. The rooms themselves are a good size and contain all the use amenities you would expect, they are clean and comfortable. They best part of the room is the large 4 poster bed which was... More

Its quite an expensive place for what you get, really: decent room with a very small bathroom. My wife and I stayed 5 nights. Beijing is massive, so you are only relatively close to the central attractions - Forbidden City is a good 35-40 minute walk, the subway system is only a five minute walk away. The hotel itself is... My boyfriend and I wanted to experience real Beijing by staying in Hutongs more so than a hotel and we really are glad we did. The people who run it/ are on reception are very very friendly and speak good English. The place has a great feel from the moment you walk in. Its very clean and very quiet so... More

Although one notable down-side of our room was a lack of windows this was made up for by the hotel's cleanliness, quiet but central location and rooftop terrace, where we went for some of our meals and to relax. I found the service consistently efficient and helpful despite my almost non-existent Chinese - most of the front desk staff could... More

My wife and two kids (ages 8 and 14) and I stayed for three nights in Room 208: a king size bed; a single bed; and the staff brought in a portable bed as well. The room had blackout curtains, so we could sleep as late as we wanted; and down the hall was their rooftop restaurant where we ate... More

My husband and I stayed here. This was our first hotel in China and would not change the fact that we stayed in this hotel. Loved the location, your with the locals, the decor, the staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was nice. The bathroom did smell but was doable.

We picked Hutong over " Western " hotel.. because this is CHINA right? and we wanted to experience what its actually like, not just being holed up in a Western styled chain motel. This place is family run, and has that homely feel about it - the 3 girls on the reception counter ( Melissa, Yuki ) all spoke English... More

We planned to stay here for 2 nights to get a better Beijing hutong experience, but the place has some real issues they need to address, and we ended up staying only 1 night. The major problem was black mold and the accompanying smell in the bathrooms of both of our rooms 207 & 208 (see photos) and the strong... More

Nice courtyard hotel in Lishi Hutong. Nice and helpful staff with good English skils. Okey and quiet room for nice price. Nice to stay in one of the many old hutong of Beijing. Was only having the breakfeast in the restaurant, standard British. I can recommend this place for who wants a cheap place with a good location.
