What we liked: + Staff was friendly, they even know English (which is very rare in the city); + Close to key sightseeing points What we didn't like: - Old dirty room with wet air; - Uncomfortable bed; - Cockroaches; - Old furniture; - The hotel is located at a dirty unpleasant street; - Wi-fi worked in the lobby only...

The price was great and the location was great. The room is a bit old with many marks on the wall-it looks old. The worst part was that the room was next to the boiler room. While this noise might not be a problem, there was a high pitch whine of a pump every few minutes that was super annoying....

I booked the hostel after viewing others' comments on the internet but it disappointed me in the worst way u can ever think of. There was a strong and disgusting smell in the toilet due to the poor drainage. The smell is so strong that you have to hold your breath every second after you go in, and you have...

The hostel is situated off the main strip, past the public toilets and once inside the hostel doesn't get much better. The rooms are so basic and the en suites haven't been plumbed properly so the wall adjoining is all damp and the drainage system is a joke, it smells so bad. The hostel does not have a nice friendly...

Apart from convenient location near Tian’anmen Square and relatively low price, there isn’t anything positive I can say about Leo Courtyard Hostel in Beijing. Staff was impolite, blocked our key-card on the first day while demanding to settle payment for full duration of our stay and attempted to cheat us upon return of the deposit for the card. We also...

I wanted to give this hostel a rating of 2.5 because it is completely average. Good points: Located in a traditional Hutong (those who said it's down a "dodgy alleyway" may not have realised this). Although the street it's on is insanely touristy, if you walk for 5 minutes down the road you find authentic restaurants and Mahjong bars. Real...

Absolutely disgusting and that's just the rooms, never mind the attitude of the staff members! May be cheap but would not recommend even to our worst enemies. The staff literally laughed in our faces when we asked for help, the cleaners don't seem to understand privacy and walk straight into your room whether you want them there or not! Cockroaches...

The traditional courtyard is beautiful and the hostel has helpful staff. But... hostel is not clean at all. The room was very humid, and stunk.the sheets were dirty and very old. if you have to stay here, ask the staff to give you a room facing the courtyard. because other rooms are even worse.

Came back here after three years and was a bit shocked. The rooms and facilities are very "used" and the staff is not trained at all. They lost our reservation of hostelworld, they did not have enough keys for the rooms and the whole facilities really need a renovation. The price is cheap, but you do not get more than...
