I was very pleased with my stay at the HI Beijing Focus Square. My room was clean and comfortable. I prefer a shower but the combo tub/shower wasn’t too high or difficult to navigate. Excellent breakfast buffet with an optional omelette station.
Spacious, clean rooms and big breakfast spread. Excellent service from front desk and concierge - even helped us to the corner with our luggage after we had some trouble finding our DiDi driver. Helps that back door opens into a Starbucks. Walking distance of metro and not far from international schools. Will stay again.
Has chosen this place due its location in Wangjing area. Spacious and comfy room, excellent views from window due to high floor rooms. Good pool (4 lanes 25 meters long). Didn’t have a chance to try breakfast. Many places to eat around.
I'm overall very happy with this hotel. The service was great, all staff were very friendly, helpful, and some had very good English. The room I got was very spacious and clean. My items were stocked every day and there was always two bottles of water provided after which could be lifesavers in the China heat. I was there for a business trip and one of the highlights for me is that this hotel provides a shuttle service at 8AM and 830AM to a variety of tech buildings in the Wangjing area. I probably could have walked the distance, but why do that when I could sit in an AC'ed shuttle? The breakfast was also very good with a wide range of options for westerners and folks of Asian descent. The on-site gym also had a good selection of workout equipment and was never that busy. I'd say the only thing this place lacks is a real 'bar-like' setting where we can unwind after a long day of work. Their current 'bar' and drink selections are pretty mediocre. I'm totally going to stay here again the next time I come back for a business trip and would recommend to others as well.…
The Holiday Inn Focus Square is a very solid and comfy hotel for a couple of nights. Staff is very friendly and the breakfast is great, even better than in some 5* places we've been. Rooms are spacious, quiet and comfy, although lacking a bit of detail cleanliness ( water stains on the drawers in the bathroom, wear on furniture in desk area). Location is close to a shopping mall. Metro and 798 arts district are a 10' resp. 20' walk away. Metro does not go to the airport, you will need a taxi (around 80 RMB). Minibar prices are reasonable , beer 18RMB. As an IHG member I enjoyed a free welcome drink, which was nice. Would come here again when in Wangjing area.
Hotel room was very clean and spacious with great views but hot and dry. Could not get anyone to help with thermostat. Staff english was very limited and pretty rude. Welcome drinks was a very nice touch. Lots of good little eating spots within a short walk and a couple of good coffee shops right at the base of the hotel.
This hotel bills itself as mid-scale, but it's much better than that: very solid four stars by any international standard. The room is efficient and everything works (nice views, too, since the guest rooms are on the highest floors); even WiFi is relatively good by Chinese standards. Breakfast is superior, with lots of hot and cold choices in a big airy dining space. I stayed here for seven nights and really appreciated the shopping mall right next door, since there's a convenient grocery store in the basement. There's also two coffee shops right in the complex: Starbucks behind the hotel (there's actually a back entrance in the lobby) and 8KM Coffee right outside. The latter has a lot of brunch options too. Not an ideal area for tourists, since it will take a while to get downtown, but a great choice if business brings you to the Wangjing area.…
Nice rooms, nice lobby, reasonably helpful front desk staff although English is limited. Great shuttle to nearby offices at 8:00 and 8:30am. The breakfast buffet was pretty good and the views were fantastic. I would definitely recommend it to people visiting the CBC office.
Stayed here for two nights, nice hotel, staff speaks english which is really helpful in China. It is not very close to the centre of beijing where places like wangfujing and sanlitun are but its closer to the airport. Room was good, wifi was a bit weak but overall good experience.
The hotel was nice ambiance and location wise. Staff courteous and friendly. Rooms decent sized and clean with a good view of the surrounding area. However the room temperature control was faulty. Breakfast spread deserves special mention - there are enough options both for vegetarian and non-vegetarian and for Chinese and non-Chinese foods. Two water bottles were provided in room each day. If you need more, ask at reception. Didn't get chance to use gym or pool. Overall, definitely recommended.
