The hotel in itself is a worthy place, with all the traditional and authentic ambiance and architecture. It feels so ancient but the modern amenities gives a different feel. Service and amenities are good. Staff are accommodating even with their difficulty in communicating in English,...More
I have visited this wonderful hotel and it is truly a hidden gem. The layout of the hotel allows you to imagine what a traditional Chinese house might have looked like back in the day. The location of the hotel puts you very close to...More
First appearances are deceptive, this hotel is down a narrow, authentic, residential backstreet complete with associated sights and smells. Located in a Hutong (back street) the location is fantastic!
Rooms are more like rustic inn type, clean with comfortable beds, plumbing and showers are good....More
Baffled how this gets a 4 star rating? More like a 2 star. Didn't feel safe arriving down dim small street, carrying suitcase ( taxi can not fit down the street) first introduction was a rat running across the road! Reception tiny, but staff nice....More

The taxi will drop you off where the main road meets the alleyways (hutongs). From there it is about a block walk down a narrow walkway (no cars will fit there) and then a right to walk down a second street. Not too far, but a bit cumbersome if you have big bags to wheel or carry. Reception is at the end of that second alleyway.
