Shangri-La Beijing is located on Beijing’s idyllic west side. The hotel is a gateway to some of Beijing’s breathtaking historical sites such as Great Wall, Summer Palace, Fragrance Mountain, and many more. The hotel is also in the heart of the financial and technological district – Zhong Guan Cun and within close proximity to renowned universities with easy access to two subway lines and international airports.
Star ratings are intended to indicate the general level of features, amenities, and services to expect. This property is classified according to Giata.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
The hotel's chinese garden is very nice and neat. This is a beautiful hotel, vast, grand and artistic. Room and bathroom are a bit old-fashioned but clean and no smell of smoke. Breakfast is excellent for an elderly person like us. So much choices and taste like home. The heated 1.2m swimming pool can be crowded during the day. The changing room and the jacuzzi are very good. The hotel is near a subway station which lead us to Daxing Intl airport without suffering the heavy unmoving traffics. This hotel is just 8.5km to the Summer Palace but it is closed every Monday.

Piers was working in the fitness department on 10/29/24. I lost an item that was very hard to retrieve and Piers went above and beyond to retrieve it. It is very reassuring to know when staying at a hotel that the staff will be so amazing when you have a problem. I want to recognize Piers for his caring, persistence and help with guests. It makes me feel safe and cared for when so far from home at the Shangri-la Pudong. The staff here is wonderful. They have always been very attentive with everything. Thank you Piers. Sincerely, Christina Paradise

From the moment we arrived the Shangri-la staff made us feel very welcome and continued to look after us all the way through to our time to depart. Super hotel with great food and fantastic amenities. We loved our stay here for 3 nights and we felt home from home. This was the second Shangri la hotel we visited on our Asia trip after Shanghai. We always trust this hotel group when travelling the far east, luxurious. Next stop shangri la Xian

My stay at the hotel was marred by unexpected financial burdens and discomfort. To my dismay, I was required to place a hefty deposit of 2000 Yuan at check-in—a stipulation that was not made clear beforehand. This inconvenience was compounded when I extended my stay online, resulting in an additional deposit for the second night. To date, the hotel has not issued a refund for these deposits, which I find unacceptable. Moreover, the room's air conditioning was non-functional, and the staff's suggestion to simply open the windows was unsatisfactory, especially considering the hotel's reputation.

When we arrived at the hotel, Ms Zoe of the GRO dept was already waiting for us. She invited us to the club lounge while we were checking in our rooms. There we were greeted by Ms Queenie and Ms Lynn, the manager who took the initiative to invite us for breakfast.
Throughout our stay, Ms Phyllis the assistant manager and the rest of the team, like Hugo, Cary, Alexander, Annais, Eve, Aili, Alex, Leon, Celia, Chloe, Yumi, Alice, Lily, Grace, Freda and Kenneth took such good care of us that my family commented that it was one of the best Shangri-Las we have stayed in and that is an extremely high compliment. I was also surprised to know many of them were just interns, because they were efficient and yet the heart to serve guests well was evident.
The food in the lounge was also fantastic, Zhang Lei and Yang Shuai did a very good job. The concierge and door man Chris and his other colleague, I couldnt remember his name, big and tall standing at the entrance of 景閣 were also very helpful.
It was also nice of Ryan to pop by and say hi. Thank you Shangri-La Beijing for making our stay a memorable one!

The environment is good, the traffic is convenient, the life is prosperous, the service is warm, the hygiene is clean. Overall it is a good staying experience. The hotel has an autonomous vending machine which can provide me with basic food. I hope to come back next time.

This is a great Hotel but once you leave the hotel, the language barrier can be difficult. In hindsight we should have tried to get a local SIM card for our phone. But not having done our research, we were left with no phone signal once we left the hotel’s WiFi. Even with WiFi many of the normal apps are blocked. Navigating around without the phones maps and translating apps was frustrating. It’s difficult to hail taxis, most people use Uber. The hotels Concierge department were a god save. They done all they could to get us around and back to the hotel, where there was no problem with communicating. But regarding the hotel, we had no problems. The room was lovely, as too were the hotel itself and the grounds. The staff were great, especially the Concierge department. I would definitely stay in this hotel again, but only if China became a bit more welcoming.

Stayed I we the weekend together with family, including 2 teenagers and a 10 year old. The staff was absolutely amazing! Very attentive and friendly, always sincerely wanting to ensure that our stay was at its best.
We went to Beijing with a packed schedule, with the only thing in mind to tick off as many attractions as possible. We are used to travels, and unless you head for a tourist place and resort, we have little to no expectations on hotels as it’s primary everything else you head there for.
Shangri-la in Beijing is different! We ended up wishing we’d stayed longer in the hotel and less on tourist attractions. When it was time to go home to shanghai, the kids didn’t even want to check out :)
It turned out that the stay at Shangri-la was at Least the same memorable thing as the attractions themselves, which i don’t think my family has ever come across before.
Head there and you won’t be disappointed!!

Stayed 24 nights at this wonderful hotel in January 24. Excellent facilities, very comfortable rooms and friendly staff - Marvin on concierge was so helpful. Breakfast buffet catered for all tastes as did the evening buffet. Room service equally as good. I would highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is massive, good, friendly and well worth staying in. Olivia at the guest services took us aside and made our check-in hassle free. The room was set up for our three small kids and they felt immediately at home. Room a little dated but competent, the west building has newer rooms. The breakfast buffet is the biggest I’ve seen, (it even had sushi for heavens sake!) with the freshest soup bar, and many other hot dishes as well as more European offerings. It’s includes a kids breakfast zone too. After breakfast head to Beijing zoo, as it’s a must with kids because of the Panda bears. This was their highlight. The lounge at level 12 helped me cope with travelling with kids. The pool is cold for the kids but has a great spa for adults. Overall a good stay, excellent service team especially the Lounge staff.

wow,Tsinghua University is the top! The hotel is really close to the university town.so wont be far to the THU. The nearest subway station still spend about 8minus to walk. I recommend take taxi to the subway station, and then take subway to downtown. Thats a nice hotel and good service.
Dear Thutchai V, thank you for your message. The earliest check-in time is 10:30 if the hotel occupancy is allowed. Our expert Concierge colleague can provide the city tour service based on your requirement. Thank you.

Yes, you are close to many restaurants, but most are fast food, although tasty. There are few places to visit within walking distance, and not so interesting. My suggestion is that you ask the hotel's excellent front desk staff and concierge. They will help you to map out an itinerary for you to visit, for example, great museums and the Forbidden City. You will need to take a taxi or, perhaps, hire a driver who speaks English. Rely on the hotel staff. They are most helpful and attentive. Good luck!
There are more places to choose from in the Beijing area.
