Great price, clean rooms and friendly and helpful staff made staying there a great experience. I was with a group of 6 friends and everyone was impressed with the accommodations. The staff was always available, very knowledgeable and upgraded us to a better room (for the same price) when our reservation had been changed. The only criticism I have is...

First, note that this is a hostel and not a hotel. If you come here expecting this place to be a hotel you may be disappointed. Some of the accommodations one can expect while staying at a hostel will not be found here. Specifically, toiletries and unlimited toilet paper. I reserved a dorm bed well in advance and one was...

Stayed here for couple of nights in September. Decent location, about 5 minutes walk from the subway. The staff were very helpful, giving us tips how to reach the bus station to Mutianyu and where to get good inexpensive Beijing duck. The bar was OK with decent food and cheap happy hour beer. I just didn't get why they started...

Saga was the first place we stayed in China so we had lots of questions, needed a lot of advice and some help with booking and planning our trip. Fortunately for us the girls at reception excelled in there customer service. They were fantastic and helped us a lot. We had no idea before we arrived that we would need...

We picked this place for two reasons: it was fairly close to the other hostel we stayed and couldnt book extra nights + the price was reasonable for a double ensuite. The location was convenient although about a 10-15 min walk to either of two metro stations (2 different lines). The room we stayed in was a good size, wifi...

Pros: Decent location (not too far from metro), good restaurant, cheap cold beer, rooms and bathrooms fine but nothing special. Price high for China, but probably not for Beijing. Cons: They lost our booking for the first night, and put us in the luggage storage/office room. Room was ok (bunk beds, AC, TV) but employees came in without knocking and...

The hostel refused entry to my Chinese husband, saying that it is hostel 'policy' to keep Chinese and foreigners separate. No explanation was given and I know for a fact that there is no kind of law in China to this effect. In our eyes, this amounts to racist discrimmination in his own country, and I feel that I absolutely...

I stayed in this hostel (when they were previously called Saga Youth Hostel) sometime in March 2011. I was with a friend; part of our agenda was to see the Great Wall. We arrived late and the student who helped us was very patient and led us to a great room. We first had a room that had a shared...
