The hotel room is extremely small and packed. There is hardly any space to move around. Not to mention that the bed is hard and not comfortable at all! The room has an awful smell that is probably due to the unwashed carpet and the heavily stained hotel walls because of frequent smoking by other guests (wonder why the hotel...

Pros : 1. Location (next to the Forbidden City, the Tiananmen square, Jingshan park, Beihai park and next to multiple museums. Also close to Dongsi station and the Wangfujing street (go chek the review) if you take bus #1 it will bring you directly to the popular shopping area.) Cons : 1. Disgusting rooms! The pictures people posted on Tripadvisor...

Please do not book this hotel if you are relying on the internet pictures, having now seen the standard of the rooms the pictures MUST be very old. Thanks to some other guests I had the opportunity to see several rooms other than my own - they were all of a similar standard - Tired with threadbear carpets, torn wallpaper...

Terribly dirty and run down. Paid almost Cdn$90 per night. Recommended by silkway travel in metrotown. Would not accept my credit card or US$cash for deposit even though room was prepaid for 3 days. Had to pay CNY cash only, luckily I borrowed from my friend. Could not use the internet, Carpets were disgustingly dirty, wallpaper peeling, lampshades with holes,...

I stayed in this place year ago, and stayed recently in June 2014 and it was terrible. The room was filthy dirty. I dare not to use the hot water pot. I spent a few days and was feeling so bad whenever I went back to the room. Their staff are all poor with English. Several friends called the hotel...

The best thing about this hotel is its location. You can walk to the Forbidden City from here. It takes about 20 minutes. The staff on reception are polite but their English isn't great so we had a few funny conversations when we had to try and describe certain items. The guy stood in reception helping people book tours and...

I am thoroughly disappointed with this hotel at which I previously lived, several times before. I booked through Hotels.com. The check in staff showed me a room; the passage to the room on the ground floor was covered with a dirty rag. In sign language and poor English I was advised that Hotels.com had booked the cheapest rooms and therefore...

I know this is a strange description but one thing I remember about the hotel is the small in my room. Yes, I was living in a huge ashtray. Smoking in rooms is still big in China and to avoid smells I had chosen a room with windows (yes, there are others) so I could let some air in. Well,...

The main reason to stay in this hotel, it's very near to Forbidden City and The Garden. Room is fine to sleep, bathroom is ok. The staff is not very helpful. We stayed here for a weekend and the experience was good.
