The hostel is located in a small alley in the heart of Beijing. There are three subway stations within walking distance, which makes it very easy to explore the city. The dorm room was very spacious and clean. All rooms have access to the country yard, which is a great place to have breakfast or have some drinks. The people...

I was travelling alone in China, a 72 year old woman, and chose this Hostel for it's location in the Hutongs right in the centre of the city. Initially my contact was with a lady who spoke excellent English and responded to my various enquiries by return. I felt I would be very safe in their Hostel. By booking a...

Really neat place inside the main building. They offer food and have a small bar as well. If you're not use to "roughing" it then this place is not for you. This is a great way to see the Huntongs and look around the old China. Good cultural experience.

We stayed at Red Lantern House for four nights, mid March. We had a little trouble locating it (the nearest subway has 5 exits) but once inside staff were very accommodating. We arrived about 9am having taken a sleeper train the night before. The staff allowed us very early check in at no extra cost! The hostel itself is pretty...

They answered every email very promptly and always helpful. Lindy -the owner has arranged and paid upfront for me to rent a wheelchair from the local hospital. She gave us a downstairs...

Great location in a ordinary Beijing quarter, this hostel was amazing and just 10 minutes to the closest metro station. The rooms and showers were very clean. The courtyard is a peaceful area where you can find a fish pool, some little trees and it's well decorated with lanterns. There you can meet some people, have a beer or read...

Red Lantern House was an ideal place for us. It's located in a cool little hutong, close to the subway station, and within walking distance of some interesting stuff. The staff was exceptionally nice and made the stay even better. The decoration and set-up of the guesthouse itself is really interesting as well, definitely worth checking out. It was clean,...

Me and my sister started our China (August 2012) tour with Beijing and slept here our first night in China. We really enjoyed our stay. In a nut shell: the food was good, the rooms were clean, the bathrooms were clean and the atmosphere was amazing for travellers wanting to meet other travellers from all over the world. Cons: it...

we stayed in this hostel for 5 nights and were very happy with our choice. The inside is decorated with chinese artifacts of all kind, which really gives you the feeling of being in an ancient chinese house. The rooms and common areas are kept very clean (the bathrooms are cleaned more than once a day). We ate breakfast here...
