Spring Garden Courtyard Hotel, a hotel in a Chinese traditional, deluxe courtyard, comprises a spring and an autumn garden. Stylistically different are the hutongs and architectures of the two districts where the spring and the autumn garden respectively locate. The autumn garden was first built in the mid-Ming Dynasty, which dates back to 500 years ago.

The Spring Garden Hotel is a nice, beautifully decorated courtyard hotel. The receptionist was a very friendly, helpful lady who speaks enough English to accommodate us. She pointed out routes in Beijing for us and suggested fine spots to eat. The rooms are facing two courtyards. The two rooms we had were in the back of the courtyard and spacious. One with a canopy bed and one twin. The hotel is near bus stops that bring you quickly to tiananmen square and the forbidden city. There's a subway station in the neighborhood and taxi's are very reasonable priced, so you can easily cross Beijing.

Its a lovely little courtyard b&b not too far from the main attractions. Simple and definitely not delux. If you are looking for a delux keep on looking as there are nicer courtyard b&b, but this one was fine for us. Breakfast was very very basic, the staff kind, the little courtyard garden lovely and the rooms basic and clean.

We really appreciated the slightly out-of the way location of this nice small courtyard hotel, just up a quiet residential hutong. Walking to forbidden city etc quite do-able but walking it both ways can be tiring and taxis can be very demanding for return trip! staff looked after us discreetly but helpfully, and overall a very good place to relax at the start of our trip. would definately return, and recommend for those needing a good nights sleep in peaceful surroundings. nice courtyard to relax and read / chill. Rooms are pleasant if basic but luxury wasn't our priority!

I stayed 4 nights in this lovely converted courtyard house hotel in May 2012. It is located down a quiet hutong lane within walking distance of the very interesing Houhai Lake District and a few subway stops from the Forbidden City. The rooms feature intricately painted ceilings and beams with interesting furnishings and decorations. A choice of western or oriental breakfast is included. The young women at reception were very helpful and the staff very friendly. For a unique, reasonably priced and well located hotel, I highly recommend this one.

Nice traditional hotel, settled in a traditional courtyard with all rooms overlooking the courtyard. Large room, beautifully decorated in a traditional manner. Staff very helpful. Internet available in the lobby. Breakfast rather poor. Central location, altough nto very close to the main touristic sites of Beijing.

For me service was a real plus. The girls were really helpful and kind. Made me Chinese dumplings in the middle of the night, answered all of our questions about planes, trains, and activities. Just really made sure to cover their bases: arranging pickups, navigation around the city. The rooms are a little small, the beds a little less giving (not bad, though); but you feel like you just stepped back into a old royal time. They have really neat opera masks on the walls (I bought one), nice furniture and decor, it's neat. Morning breakfast is good. The dining room is in the basement and a bit dark. It's a little bit away from the Temple of Heaven, Wangfujing, and so forth. However, it's near other places of interest. I enjoyed the place and the memory of the staff and style stick with me as memories of China.

So much impressive with the hotel decor. The staff was very friendly and very kind. The hotel style was different from the others in Beijing. The breakfast was good. Convenient location, near some restaurants. Very cozy place to stay. I'd recommend the hotel.

If you are looking for something in Beijing that is different from a typical western-style hotel, then this place is definitely worth considering. It is a small, quaint courtyard-style hotell off an unlikely narrow alley-way in the Hutongs. Ours was a deluxe room with a four-poster bed and traditional furniture. The room was remarkably quiet and we woke to the sounds of birdsong in the mornings. The front-desk staff spoke English well, and were friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were rather basic but adequate (choice of Chinese or Western). In terms of accessibility it is close to the subway and reasonably central to the major sights. In terms of price it seemed on the high side but appropriate when compared with other options. The only minor negative was that the beds are pretty hard by western standards. Highly recommended.

Spring Garden Hotel is a jewel hidden in heart of Beijing. It is a living piece of eras long gone, with more perks and comforts added in. Each room represents a different dynasty with beautiful decorations down to the last detail. The staff is extremely helpful and ready to include and advise you of activities that are China. This is my second stay here, and it just keeps getting better. Even though my Chinese is limited to 3 words, there has never been a problem conversing, and the staff has been more than helpful meeting my needs. Complimentary breakfast in the courtyard is delightful during the warmer months and cozy near the heater in your room during the colder months. As a woman traveling solo, there was never a time that I felt in danger walking down the alley after dark, or that my safety was threatened. The hotel atmosphere is warm, safe, and welcoming, and the people of Beijing gracious. It is right off major bus lines(1Y.to ride the bus regardless of distance!) and taxis are cheap and available. This beautiful hutong is what dreams and storybooks bring to life when one invisions China and the wonders it holds. Traveling to Beijing and not staying here would be the biggest disservice you can do to yourself. This is a true gem, and I love it here!
