This hostel is comparable to the excellent hostels in Singapore. Location is close to main road and subway station. Also, its location is a tourist destination itself- being the most famous and nicest huting- Nanluoguxiang, and has lots of shops for souvenirs&apparels, restaurants, and food take out counters. Has free breakfast, wifi, and lockers.Hostel staff are the best! They can...

Beijing Downtown Backpacker Hostel is a centralized hostel with a fantastic staff and great accommodations in the middle of a very busy hutong. It's very hectic the minute you step out the front door, but is a great location to explore the city. There's lots of great street food around, as well as many sights, the subway and a nice...

My name is Frederic Pauchot, chinese name Bao SHOUFEI, french chinese teacher in Nancy, France, I come to Beijing Downtown from year 2004 and from that year cannot expect to to go to another hotel in Beijing! Its place in BEIJING is the best we can expect: on Nanluoguxiang, close to Shishahai which seems to be the best area for...

We signed up for the 10K Wild Great Wall hike from Jiankou to Mutianyu. This tour, while not for the timid (6 miles of fun!) was exactly how I wanted to experience the Great Wall. This is an experience that I would not trade. Jackie was a fantastic guide. Very helpful. Very patient for when we needed a quick break....

Backpackers Hostel - Great Wall tour & Opera I was recommended this great wall tour in particular because it was thought to be well organised and have none of the common jade (read tat) shopping involved. The hostel responded quickly to my enquiry via email and I paid via Wechat (I live in China). I arrived on the day at...

My first time staying in a hostel for a while so wasn't sure what to expect, but needn't have worried because it was a great experience. I shared a four bed room with two guys - they were really considerate room mates and the curtains around the beds provided plenty of privacy. The beds were comfy and I had ear...

Not sure how common this is, but be aware that your room might now have windows. If you're dealing with jet lag this could be a bit frustrating. On the plus, the location is great in a bustling hutong (though under lots of construction during our stay) and the complementary breakfast (sans coffee, which is extra) was also nice, though...
