Cheap hotel price. I stayed with my family and from 2 rooms that I booked, they changed it to 1 room only. But they refunded the money to me. I expect that this is a separate place or hotel but this is just a part of one building and they are renting the rooms also on the building and convert...

I booked this place through Agoda, indicating it was a hotel. But it was a far cry from one. My family was really disappointed. At least the owner was nice, and I slept comfortable through all 4 nights.

Cheapest on booking.com! Really small private room without window and loud air conditioning. A bit hard to find! The toilet and shower are installed at the same place, but we were told thats quite normal for HK! There's not always english speaking staff at reception, so we had to wait for a long time and came back again. We had...

Hong Kong is notoriously fickle with hostel prices, especially weekends. Golden Island came in as a useful stop-gap a couple of times when other places were full or overpriced. Jessie the owner is reasonably friendly, if not especially attentive. Vicky her assistant likewise. There is a scattiness apparent re access to dorms (e.g. never offered a key & had to...

But the room seems pretty new and clean, staff was friendly even that little english or almost non and the location is excellent!!! Aftel all it's a cheap hotel and you...

I would like to give a thumbs up for this accommodation. Centrally located in the heart of Tsim Tsa Tsui. Fit for budget travelers. Jessie the receptionist was very polite and was very helpful in all our needs especially how to find good deals in HK.

This is a pretty basic place but it has everything that you need. The main lady is really friendly and helpful. I did not love the fact that you have a shower exactly where the loo is but that is not a big deal. Reasonable cost and it is in a great location.

Small, but clean room with bath and AC, friendly stuff, price very reasonable. A little noisy and quite thin walls, but it is worth really staying here. Compared to other guesthouses that have a lot of doubtful "businessmen" that are stayng at the entrance offering you cheap and fake goods... Great location, subway station Yau Ma Tei very near, from...

Very expensive for what you get. The hot water went out after 5 minutes of use which was highly annoying if there are 2 of you. We was woken up every morning by sounds of drilling from the floor below or by the people next door as the walls are paper thin and you can hear every slight sound. Both...

Staying in Jordan / Yau Ma Tei

Neighbourhood Profile
Jordan / Yau Ma Tei
The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighbourhood is where you will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong Kong. Not as glamourous or busy as its neighbours Mong Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in time. A large part of the neighbourhood draws from the rich history of Temple Street, stretching from Jordan to Yau Ma Tei, where a mix of dai pai dongs (outdoor restaurants), market stalls, fortune tellers and old karaoke bars bring out the history and culture of the area. The neighbourhood is a showcase of diversity – different ethnicities, cultures, and a mix of old and new.
