We stayed here for 3 nights in January 2015 in a Harbour Room - we extended our stay in Hong Kong by 3 nights at the last minute and decided to move here (for the view) from the Landmark Mandarin, which was a huge mistake. This was our 3rd or 4th stay at this hotel, previously one of our favorites...

An all-around first class experience. While my room was compact, the space was expertly designed and beautifully appointed. During my week long stay, I never felt cramped. Room service, restaurants and bars are all excellent. The staff is outstanding. Every need is anticipated. I had them do laundry. Not only did it come back perfectly folded and arranged, they even...

This hotel is the best located if you intend to use public transport as it is situated next to Hong Kong Central MTR. Hong Kong has the best public transport system in the world bar none, but be prepared to walk. Food on this island is expensive but you can buy any type of food, Oriental or Occidental and restaurants...

Treated ourselves for a special anniversary and it was so well worth it. We were treated so well, the service throughout our stay was impeccable. Champagne in the room to greet us and a personal anniversary card. The whole experience couldn't have been better. We loved our room, the bar in the evening with live music and singers and the...

We have stayed in a few hotels around the world over the years but the Mandarin Oriental is definitely up there with the best. From the moment we touched down at the airport and were greeted by a MO staff member (we opted for the meet and greet service), we knew we were in for a special treat. It took...

Staying in Central

Neighbourhood Profile
Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
