This was our second stay at a Mandarin Oriental Hotel, the first time being in Singapore. We were again very impressed by the quality of service, attention to detail and also our accommodation. We would choose this hotel again.

I had really looked forward to staying at this legendary hotel, and whilst in many respects I was not disappointed, there were some areas that I felt left me feeling slightly short changed. Some of the service was beyond outstanding. Here, a special mention goes to concierge, Agathe. Newly arrived at the Hotel from Paris, she came to my aid...

Whenever we travel to Hong Kong we prefer to stay at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel only this time we wanted to celebrate our big birthdays at the hotel. In this we cannot thank them enough for making our stay such a memorable occasion; from the welcome upon arrival, to the rooms with a harbour view, to the execellent service throughout,...

To call the Mandarin Oriental the best hotel in Hong Kong is hardly a revelation, but it is true, and needs to be reiterated. Several of the better properties on Kowloon-side may believe they offer a comparable alternative, but location will always count against them (Kowloon vs. HK Island; not a fair competition). Apart from its location, the MO wins...

No doubt that this is one of the best hotels in Hongkong, but of course you also pay the price for it. And they charge extra for whatever they can. Like WiFi - it is just not appropriate in these times anymore to charge for WiFi (then they could also charge for using then toilet!). Breakfast for a 6 year...

My second stay in the Mandarin and it was as good as ever. Fantastic location for Central business activities, great facilities - bedrooms, fitness suite and restaurants/public areas. Key for me is the quality and attentiveness of the staff - all excellent. Would definetely recommend.

The services and room quality are excellent, a memorable stay. The property is well maintained even though the hotel has been providing exceptional services for 50 years. Here is one of the best in Hong Kong.

We are now in our late 50's and have travelled quite a bit. This is by far the best hotel we have ever stayed in and would recommend it to everyone. The holidays starts as soon as you are greeted from your transport. The quality oozes from everywhere.

"Best in the world" is hyperbole--not sure it's even best in Hong Kong, as I prefer the Mandarin Oriental Landmark--but this is a very special hotel for the business traveler. Very nice restaurants and bars, where you don't feel foolish when you done alone, and an unbeatable location in Central HK. Staff go the extra mile. The "vintage" decor is...

Staying in Central

Neighbourhood Profile
Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
