Very pleasant resepsionis, they allow me check in and enter my room ecek its still 9 am. The location in causeway bay is so strategic, near Sogo and MRT station. But they should prepare at least one special menu for breakfast, to helm the guess who stay more than 2 days like me, died because of boring

My wife and I stayed in the Excelsior for 11 nights. The room Deluxe Sea View was great but at AUD 450 per night it was a bit over board. It did not include breakfast. Pros: close to major shopping centres, eateries and transportations. A short walk to Wanchai ferry that will take you over to Kowloon Tsim Sha Tsui....

Great service, great location, good beds. I would return to this place anytime and recommends that you try out this hotel. The shops around this place closed around 11pm, one of the latest in town. If you want to use wifi, i suggest you buy a prepaid SIM card - much cheaper that way. bring an unused working phone to...

The hotel seems old but the room was clean. It is located in a convenient area and by Causeway Bay so if you have a room bay side, you can enjoy the view. However there is a construction is going on by the bay so daytime view is not good but the night view is good. There is a bar/restaurant...

Hong Kong rooms are smaller, not a surprise. Bed, linens, towels and toiletries were all good, no problems. The rooms need more access to power outlets for recharging. This is a reality that all hotels need to grasp. Room cleaning was fast and done well. In room dining was good. The reception area has in adequate and uncomfortable seating. The...

I have been staying at the Excelsior for many years so these comments reflect the fact that I do choose it regularly. I go for a room on the executive floor which also grants access to the lounge and I received free wifi - not sure if that is floor related. The hotel is an older hotel in Hong Kong...

The only good thing about this hotel is its splendid location! This very very old hotel with no upgrades or renovations in their rooms and facilities earns its ratings mainly because it is situated in the heart of causeway bay where the festivities go on and on til late at night. It is connected via walkway to the World trade...

if this is the best, please show me the worst. 2nd review of the Excelsior in as many weeks only this time I'm actually staying overnight. A very dated hotel (part of the Mandarin Oriental Group), hotel lobby reminds me of a 70s hotel in London. Checking in quite smooth, my colleague and I were informed our rooms had been...

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
