Detailed Reviews
Prior to my quarantine stay, I read some really harsh, discouraging reviews about Ramada Grand View Hotel (North Point) online. But because it has a transparent, flexible refund policy, which is important in this uncertain pandemic situation we're in, and its superior room is well within my budget, I went ahead and booked it anyway. And I'm writing this review to balance out the other negative reviews out there because I don't regret spending my quarantine in Ramada and actually had a pleasant stay.
Of course, if you want a five-star rating for every criterion you have on your checklist for a long hotel stay, you've got to be willing to pay for it. That's how it is, especially in Hong Kong. You get what you pay for. I'd say Ramada North Point is a decent hotel and offers good value. You get a spacious room that comes with a spacious private bathroom; the windows fully open with a universal key that you can request from the hotel reception; three meals a day are inclusive; the Wi-Fi is fast enough for regular browsing; and the hotel staff I encountered were responsive and courteous to requests, which could include deliveries through apps from supermarkets and many restaurants in the vicinity.
It's true the hotel is past its prime and isn't spick and span. I especially don't like how the corridor smells. It smells weird. They probably sprayed a lot of disinfectant products there. The meals aren't fancy either. However, it's really about what you prioritize and again, how much you're willing to pay for it.
Preparation also matters. If you bring stuff that you know will make you happy and will make your stay more comfortable, that will make a whole lot of difference. It did for me. Personalize the hotel room of your choice and it'll be easy to overlook anything you might not like about it.
Every hotel has its pros and cons, but after weighing them, this is the hotel quarantine experience I ended up with. I hope this review helps someone out there.
(By the way, not all quarantine hotels can assist you with your luggage.)

When I arrived in Hong Kong, I had a 3-day/night quarantine at this Hotel. I arrived very late and was ushered to my room. Was given a meal, which was welcome. At least it was still warm. The room was decent though a bit sparse. The cupboards were partially broken (my room had a kitchenette) but at least the kettle worked and there was a big stock of water bottles for me. The WiFi worked fine which was brilliant as the TV choice was poor.
Bathroom was fine, everything worked just looked old and worn. Hot water was readily available and after a long wait at the airport for a quarantine taxi, a hot shower was just what I needed. The water pressure was a bit low but this didn't bother me.
Bedroom was a king sized bed and quite comfortable, though the carpet throughout the room was (again) old and worn. Didn't want to walk around in my bare feet that's for sure!
The view from the bedroom was that of the street outside, I was on an upper floor so had a higher view but not of the Harbour and the view was not grand in my opinion. I came because it was the right price and the only Quarantine Hotel that could accomodate my travel plans. I didn't come for the views.
Overall, for the money - I found it poor value but didn't have much choice. The staff were friendly, responsive and efficient. As were the Department of Health chaps who came to the room to carry out a PCR test on Day 2 of my stay. I had a 3 night stay and it was fine. On the morning of Day 3, I checked out and was on my way. For those coming here on Holiday, the location is actually quite good, I needed the MTR and it was a 3 minute walk away. Even with a bit of luggage, it was fine. Bus stops are close by too.
Note: To contact the staff, they recommended that people use WhatsApp/WeChat. The internal phone systems were not working properly (if at all) so WiFi was the way to go. I found that that they were very responsive on WhatsApp.
Note2: since I initially paid for a 7 day quarantine package, but on arrival, the HK Government changed to the '3+4' system, I was due a refund for the extra 4 nights. The stay was in September 2022. I finally got the refund Jan 2023. After some chasing from me.

we really LOVE the location of this hotel. Right at the terminal stop for the tram to North Point, bus stops to everywhere you need to go, relatively close to MTR, and lots of eateries and shops near by both on King's Road and Java Street.
The room was just ok. A bit dated but functional. We were given a room with two single beds on 11th but we wanted a double so they moved us to 7th from 11th. There is a smell to the room and hallway everytime we enter but after 5 min we get noseblind and it goes away... Rooms are ok size, relatively clean and cleaning staff is good.
bring your own face towel as they only provide large bath towel. There is safe and fridge in room, but no microwave and bathroom has no fan...
The AC is a bit loud but does cool the room sufficiently 24 hours a day.
Not much of a view looking at the other buildings.
some people may get put off by front entrance looking at and walking past a wet market but we are ok.. very safe location as the street markets and vendors open till past 9pm... lots of people smoking just outside the entrance which can be an annoyance.
The hotel staff were good, no complaints with their service.
Also, the swimming pool was closed and never opened on any of the 14 days we stayed and we didn't bother checking out the gym.
The restaurant doesn't look too appetizing and honestly there are so many eateries around there's really no point for the mediocre restaurant

Absolutely horrible experience. Will never recommend anybody staying at this hotel and here are the reasons:
1) The room smells very mouldy and dirty.
2) Broken, worn down and stained furnitures.
3) Cabinet smells like you have not opened it for a couple years.
4) Stained and mouldy carpet, chairs, curtain, bed sheets.
5) The aircon is very noisy with mouldy vent.
6) Broken Air-Purifier.
7) Fridge that doesn't get cold, which is useless.
8) Shower with luke warm water only.
9) TINY ANTS ARE EVERYWHERE!!!
10) Unresponsive and rude staffs. Housekeeping does not pick up your call. Took them 6 hours to bring up two extra pillows.
11) Absolutely horrible food.
12) They will only give you 15 bottles of water (700ml per bottle for two people) during our 7 night quarantine stay and you will have to pay $8 for extra bottle.
13) Dirty appliance, I have to thoroughly wash the kettle before I can use it.
14) No boxed tissue. They only give you toilet paper.
This hotel pretty much hits all the points you do not want to experience at a hotel, very impressive. I wonder how the government would approve such hotel as a quarantine hotel.
Recommendation if you have no other choice but to stay here:
1) Be sure to install food panda / deliveroo for proper food, or you will be eating the same type of food until you leave.
2) Have your family/ friends drop off cleaning supplies, bug sprays, air freshener and such.

It was not a nightmare like the experience of some other reviewers, but my wife and I were delighted when we departed after 3 nights' quarantine in this very jaded hotel.
This may be a quarantine hotel, but clearly the owners feel doing the minimum is sufficient for them while they rake in money from their "guests" (prisoners). We arrived with several bags but no-one offered any help.
The room was literally falling apart, especially the doors and wallpaper, and the carpet was quite dusty. The phone also did not work. Internet was fine and the water hot, but the shower head had to be held as it could no longer be attached to the wall at a decent height.
The bed was pretty uncomfortable and the pillows wrapped in plastic before being placed inside the pillowcase, which made them noisy and uncomfortable. We had a sofa which was also hard and uncomfortable and needed a good clean.
As for the food, this comes from a central location but it was completely inedible. Anyone still planning to stay at this hotel, take your own food or be prepared to order food deliveries.
On check out, we were left to our own devices to find a taxi and deal with our bags, which we managed to do. Overall this place is best avoided.

Worst quarantine hotel you can choose.
Room was not clean (almost wanted to use disgusting here) to a point where I felt like I could get sick (urine stain on the toilet seat, blood stain on the sheets, disgusting carpeting full of hair, bathroom sink clogged).
Food is disgusting and super unhealthy (rice + oily and super salty meat/boiled veggies, EVERY SINGLE DAY).
Internet doesn't work and when you complain by email, because it's almost impossible to get anyone at the reception, they don't even acknowledge your complain nor reply.
That is a disgrace for HK to accept such hotel as a quarantine hotel. I quarantined in Shanghai in hotels where the night would normally be 3 to 4 times cheaper than this hotel and it was well above in term of quality/service. This is not doing any good for the image of HK.
Documenting all of the issues (especially internet down time) and applying for a partial credit card charge back upon check out

Pillows are as flat as a pancake and is covered in plastic.
Bed is the most uncomfortable one I’ve laid on to. Gave us back, hip and neck pain.
The front area is a wet market, and the scent of fish is just a sniff away.

We stayed for 8 days and no cleaning at all! The hotel staff only told us that they had a new policy of weekly cleaning when we checked in. We were asked to sign a form to acknowledge this (unfortunately we missed the fine print that there was an additional “deep cleaning fee of HK$1000” if anyone was tested positive for COVID).
On the third day we stayed, we were sent a COVID pack by the HKGovt because my husband was tested positive at the airport. Later on that day a hotel staff phoned us saying that we needed to pay $1000 for “deep cleaning” when we checked out.
However, there was no cleaning at all - the room was smelly and dirty. The bathroom was mouldy. They didn’t even carry out the weekly cleaning. So, you can imagine how terrible state the room was when we checked out.
Never again this hotel… I would never recommend it.

Booked a family for 2 weeks quarantine. Arrived late in the evening, there was only a security guard waiting at the door who was very rude & responded angrily when I asked for where the check-in counter is. First night, got served a cold meal for dinner. The room space was good for enough for 3 people but it was smelly & dusty. They should improve their cleaning quality. Meals were not tasty nor nutritious. We survived on the delivery meals from our relatives & restaurants nearby ☹️
Pros: good location, responsive staff (specially in whatsapp) & lots of restaurants around for food delivery
Cons: dusty & smelly room, bland meals

Review of Ramada Grandview in North Point.
If you have class, or work and need to be on zoom quite a lot, or even use Netflix for entertainment to pass time, please look for another hotel.
Pros: Friendly front desk receptionist/staff
Cons: I have class/work from 11pm-6am and use zoom, it’s always lagging for me, I miss chunks of my lecture, and for work (I tutor other college students) I can barely share screen and send documents as it is very very slow. Necessary stuff aside, internet keeps cutting on/off and I have to keep trying to join WiFi again and again, numerous times a day, at least twice every hour. Plus the beds are rock hard and my neck/body end up being stiff and sore. Maybe it’s just not good for long-term stay but sadly this is the case for me quarantining here. Also mentioning again, their WiFi is really really bad.

I had stayed with this hotel last week and the pool was opened.
Sorry but not sure if it will be open in September. Hotel signs do say to swim at your own risk. Not an ideal spot for viewing Light Shows which tend to emanate around Victoria Harbour. They are visible from most buses leaving Central Station. Best views of Light Shows can be experienced on late ferries on return from outlying islands.
Yes, they do :)... it's standard as a local 4* hotel
