Where to begin.... First no smoking does not have any meaning in this hotel or all of China for the most part. Lobby FULL of cigarette smoke. Most employees stunk of smoke. Rooms old and in need of rehab, had to change my room because of smoke. There is oxygen available in each room, but they fill the bubbler with... More

The entrance hall is freezing, so is the restaurant and it's true no-one except the gift shop man speaks English but this place is brilliant! And if you are going onwards to travel around Tibet get used to this because in our experience it doesn't get better. The view from our room was the best view of the Potala Palace anywhere.... More

My 5 night experience was way different than other reviews. 1. No hot water for 5 days 2. Breakfast food always cold and the same. There is an egg station that offers hot food. 3. There are no eating places near by with either English or pictures. 4. No one speaks English at the reception desk. 5. All floors are... More

This is our first stay in Tibet and it is interesting! When you walk in the lobby first thing we noticed was it was cold! The staff were wearing winter type coats. They seem to only turn on the lights where necessary, not like us westerners lighting up everything! We found out they do not heat the hallways and lobby... More

Stayed for 3 nites while on tour. Rooms are big, AC worked well, beds firm but good. Staff were very helpful and spoke english. Can exchange money at front desk. Breakfast buffet. Very eastern food items. Location is within 2.5km to potala palace and joking temple/bark hour street area. We walked took 20 minutes. Shopping mall and large grocery store... More

Xin Ding Hotel offered a nice view of the Potola Palace. The bed was firm but comfortable. Free bottled water was provided. The buffet breakfast were good. The bad things about this hotel was that there was no wi-fi in the room and the wi-fi in the hotel's restaurant did not always work. And there isn't much to see walking... More

I was here on a group tour and really enjoyed this hotel. Upon arrival we were greeted with tea and cookies by the Assistant Manager served in the bar area. The rooms were fine and my room on the 5th floor had a wonderful view of the Potala Palace. The Palace is particularly lovely when lit up at night. I... More

Stayed here as part of a Tour group. Cannot say much about checkin, it was handled by the Tour Manager. The room is basic and has everything that you need. Bathroom is functional with ample lighting. It can be cold, use the remote by the bedside to adjust. Electric is controlled by inserting the card key into the slot. Use... More

Before I say anything about the hotel let me remind you that you are in the "Roof of the World and the elevation of Lhasa is about 12000 ft. Altitude sickness is common and makes the experience difficult. One good thing about this hotel is for $25 you can rent an oxygen tank and it will be in your room... More

we walked in into a grand lobby with older style grand decor, and I thought "wow". We got a room, and the view was as promised - spectacular, changing between the sun rise, to the sun lit, to the evening lights. Definitely memorable and impressive. However, in addition to the amazing view we also got some horrific toilet smell in... More
