Stayed 4 night in this hotel during my time in Lhasa. Located in quiet alley inside the main ring of Barkhor Old Town, only 3-5 minutes walk to the Barkhor Street where the Tibetan do their kora. The rooms are small but comfortable and most importantly they are equipped with a powerful heater. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful and goes out of her way to make you feel very comfortable. She speaks excellent English. There is a restaurant on the top floor which serves breakfast, either western or chinese style and snacks during the day....

The hotel is very close to Bakhor Street and Jokhang Temple. The staff are friendly and several speak English. The lady in charge spoke excellent English and was very friendly. I stayed 4 nights in total in this hotel during my trip to Tibet. The hotel is rather small but with nice calm atmosphere and amazing rooftop terrace where you can see the Potala Palace. Friendly staff, Chinese owned with good English, rooms adequate with good heating and hot water. Could be fresher but rooms serviced daily. Breakfast nothing special but all in all a good place to be based in Lhasa. We booked through booking.com which was of the rack room rate. Lhasa is more expensive than most China towns

Our family of four spent four nights at the Tashitakge Hotel during our recent trip to Tibet in Winter. A lovely Inn, decorated in traditional Tibetan style, it is located in the old town less than 5 minutes walk from Barkhor street. The hotel location is superb - 5 mins to Barkhor street and about 20 minutes to the palace. The decor is well done and very charming. The service was great - very attentive. I was absolutely freezing (even with the little portable radiator) and asked the bellman for an extra blanket. A thick blanket was immediately brought to my room....

Tashitakge was definitely my favourite hotel in Tibet. It is not luxurious, but is very charming. 1) Great location: situated in old Lhasa, just around the corner from the Barkhor circuit and Jokhang Temple. Very convenient as you can take morning/evening strolls if you want to observe the local pilgrims, and there are many choices for food and shopping nearby....

The Tashi Takge Hotel is 100% a class act. I echo much of the previous reviews. It’s clean and friendly. The rooms are good sized and well decorated. Llasa is an experience which in the end is not easy captured w/ words. "Sensory bombardment" is a phrase I heard more than once. At the end of the day you can feel stretched, and twisted.
