I arrived to Lhasa with my husband on Dec 31. Not the best time because there was no Year's Eve Celebration. This is low season in Tibet, so there we almost no guests at the hotel. There was only a chinese restaurant open and they had no english menu! Though, staff was very friendly and did their best to explain...

The hotel was a 45 minute drive from the flat land with no buildings that was the airport (1985). We were there in 1985. the date option didn't give that date as an option! Open barren land. So desolate. I think I passed out before we landed. Was dizzy the drive to the hotel. Had to be helped inside. We...

The rest of Tibet might be wonderful, but I always feel happy when I arrive in Lhasa with my group members. The new section of the hotel where the reception is located is wonderful, although the connecting corridor is sometimes confusing. The rooms are big and clean, but very often our Chinese neighbours were far too noisy. They often left...

With the addition of the new building this is now a large hotel which makes it hard to navigate. If you stay in the older building it is also loud. You pretty much have to slam your door to close it meaning others have to to which can get loud at night when trying to sleep. As a light sleeper...

The place is not a bad place in this altitude and remoteness. I didn't have big problems in the hotel and the staffs were OK. The restaurant to do not have many items to offer though for me it was good to try some new items. I had pretty good sleep after long day drive. Many travelers seems to have...

We stayed in this hotel last year and upon check-in found our room fairly spacious but the bathroom was not overly clean and we saw some insects creeping out from the drainage hole at night. Buffet breakfast spread was okay but variety was quite limited. They also served yak's milk and yoghurt. A downside of this hotel is they allow...

Our tour company originally booked us into the Lhasa Hotel for our three night stay in Lhasa. However, after doing some research on the internet including reading the TA reviews, we decided against their choice and opted for a small boutique hotel in the Old Town. Our reservation was cancelled at the last minute by the boutique hotel and we...
