Lhasa is the the center of Tibetian culture and this Hotel is in the Tibetian district, a few minutes from Jokhang temple and Barkhor market. All the district is an big market and you can spend here around some nice hours. The Hotel is quiet and clen. Rooms are nice and in tibetian style. The owners, a nepalese and a...

We were traveling with a tour group and found the accommodations to be just what we were expecting in Tibet. Our room was very spacious and faced the street, but in the evenings there was very little noise. The restaurant food was very good and the staff very personable. My only complaint is it wasn't as clean as I would...

We stayed here three nights as part of a tour. While the staff was nice, the quality of the accomodations was terrible. We were missing a towel rack in our first room, and the bathtub drain was full of hair. When we requested a change to a double bed (instead of twin beds), we were missing both the towel rack...

Our 3 night stay at the Dhood Gu was something special. As soon as you enter you are surrounded with traditional Tibetan decor. The attention to detail in preserving the Tibetan art work was a very pleasant surprise. You really felt you were in a Tibetan hotel. It was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was...

This is a great place, situated right in the middle of the old town and with bags of character. It's not posh and seems charmingly amateurish but far, far more interesting because of that. For example, they were installing a lift at the end of the corridor and there was just a gaping hole in the wall with a drop...

We stayed 3 nites at this Lhasa hotel as part of an OAT small group tour. The hotel is simply charming, decorated with colorful Tibetan flourishes, wood wall carvings, and artifacts. Our twin bed room was comfortable and airy, with a small but adequate bathroom. Breakfeast and dinner meals were adequate and well prepared but a lot of yak as...

Wonderful small Tibetan hotel oozing with Tibetan character. It is not 5 star but a clean and comfortable hotel with wonderful friendly staff and rooms painted and furnished Tibetan style. The location was fantastic right in the Tibetan Quarter with views to the Potala Palace from the roof. The curries at the restaurant are just fantastic. Our whole holiday in...

The hotel is right in the middle of the Old town, with easy access to the most traditional part of the city. I think the place if good if you are looking for an authentic Tibetan experience - staff are friendly and helpful, and would be seen making prayers at different times during the day. Having said that, the rooms...

As another post indicates, the hotel is decorated in the Tibetan style. Showing age a little, we also had water issues the first night, no cold water in the shower. The following days they did not turn the water off. Staff was excellent and ready to take care of anything we asked. This hotel is on a street where vendors...

Great location, lovely ambience, decent food and helpful staff. It is Tibet so not everything works- eg took 3 hours to arrange hot water on first day. Nonetheless a wonderful place to stay and excellent value.
