Stayed there a few days for a business trip, so we received the negotiated rate which is approx USD 143 (880RMB) per night. It's rated as a 4 star hotel, but if you compare it to international standard, it's a 3 star at the best. It is clean (except for the carpet, but I don't think they have vacume cleaner...

They tried to charge us for stains on the toilet seat which were actually caused by water dripping from the ceiling ( out of the light fitting !! ) When we used the toilet we had to place a towell over our head and shoulders to remain dry.

A one night stay because the Shangbala Hotel was not available. It was unusually warm in Lhasa, 24 Celcius but the a/c didn't work. The worst breakfast we encountered in 24 days travelling through China...no coffee, no eggs, no bacon. Put a do not disturb notice on the door because we hadn't finished packing, didn't matter, they were cleaning the...
