In a city like Jakarta, where everything seems noisy and chaotic, this place is an island of rest, silence and relaxation. Don and Ita are wonderful hosts, who make you feel like home. The rooms are very homely and clean as well as the whole property. You feel comfortable from the first moment. You will reach the height of your stay...

Don, Ita, and Ratna are lovely hosts, and did everything to make me feel at home. Although the Maritim has the cozyness of a guesthouse, the standard is really high and hotel-like. I stayed here for 2 months because of my PhD-research, and really appreciated the mix of tourists dropping by for a couple of days, and other longstays wanting...

I must say when we arrived in Jakarta one night just over a week ago, I did wonder if I had made a mistake in the booking, as the taxi took us from the neon lit skyscrapers of the city to narrower and more dimly lit streets, to an alley! But this big gate slid open to reveal this lovely...

Jakarta may not be the best place we've been to in southeast asia, but this guesthouse is seriously the best place we've stay. The guesthouse is like HOME! The room is spacious, the beds are comfy, the bathroom so immaculately clean, and the food was SUPERB! But most of all, our gracious host, Don and Ita really know what good...

Firstly the detailed instructions and directions to get to Maritim Guest House were so detailed and accurate. No problem getting there!. And what a surprise, to come to a cosy, well kept house amidst the hustle and bustle and traffic of South Jakarta!. A welcome ice tea drink broke the ice. The hosts, Don & Ita, like to chat and...

I spent a week at the Maritim Guest House last January when I first moved to Jakarta. The food (especially the home made bread and pasteries) was wonderful and the room was lovely. Apart from that, Ita took wonderful care of me, even giving me and another guest a tour around town one Sunday. If I didn't live here, it...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Relax in one of our eight comfortably decorated bedrooms with views of tropical gardens within our secure walled compound. Our guest house is a well-maintained single story establishment. The room rate includes a complimentary breakfast and dinner, therefore taking the worry out of your day regarding where and what to eat. We would like you to experience Indonesian food and so it will be offered, but we try our best not to make it too spicy or we simply put the chili sauce (sambal) on the side. We are located in South Jakarta off of busy Jalan (Avenue) Fatmawati. Our staff can easily assist you in obtaining one of the many taxis plying our area. Jalan Fatmawati and the surrounding area has casual eateries, grocery stores, and pharmacies. Our location is ten minutes equal distance away by taxi to Cilandak Town Square Mall and Pondok Indah Mall where finer restaurants and cafes as well as the usual fast food outlets abound. The South Jakarta business district of TB Simatupang is also ten minutes away. We are a two minute walk away from Wisma Subud and The British Institute. The Jakarta International School is five minutes away by car. ... more   less

“While it's right off Fatmawati, there are quiet rooms in the back so no traffic noise. I stayed in the front but got used to the sounds after one night (you will also hear the call to prayers early in the morning). My friends who stayed on the quiet side said they had no trouble at all with noise.”
