I arrived at this hotel, hoping to find a clean and comfortable base for a few days of sightseeing around Jakarta with a friend. We weren't expecting much as we have been staying in budget places for the whole five weeks that we have been travelling around Indonesia. However, this place turned out to be by far the worst place...

Stayed here having arrived late from the airport. Oh dear. Half naked drunk blokes running about the stairwell. Air con that made noise but didn't even work as a fan. TV not working. No wifi detectable. And worst of all no water in the bathroom. No shower, no brushing teeth, no flushing toilet. I would have been better off sitting...

The recent renovations of my favorite Jalan Jaksa crash pad, where service and facilities takes a distant second to location, friendliness and security, have created another idiosyncratic attraction: a roof-top breakfast nook with a panoramic view of the downtown core and a large open terrace lined with potted orange trees. The breakfast itself is nothing to write home about, unless...

I should have read the comments on TA before going there. Our room was dirty, full of rubbish, way too hot, full of mosquitos (big whole in the wall) and, what we've learnt the next morning, infested by bed bugs. We've paid for two nights in advance and the owner didn't want to give back the money for the second...

We got here late at night so we were a bit desperate. Everything around here is so overpriced it is ridiculous! We paid way too much for a very dirty room. The room had bugs living in the toilet, there was a very small fan, it was a very small room and there were cockroaches. The staff was really nice...
