Our first experience of Johan was in trying to figure out how to get from the Banyak Islands to Ketambe. Johan sorted it all out for us at no cost (and no commission!), even including picking us up in his 4wd at 4.30am from Kutacane. From there our experiences only got better as Johan and family bent over backwards to... More

The cottages are outdated! Walls you can see through outside, floors crooked and the floorcarpeting broken on all sides. i don't think the bathroom was cleaned in several years. Hosts are only friendly if they can sell something. Sitting in pyjama's most of the day... Across te street there is a brandnew Homestay for the same price!!! Just pass Wisma... More

We have been away for 7 months and this experience was by far the best we have had. Johan is a wonderful guy and puts you at ease immediately with his kind smile and jokes! We really struggled whether to choose a 2 or 3 day trek as we were on a budget but I can highly recommend the 3... More

The experience I had at Wisma Cinta Alam was nothing beyond accommodating, friendly and expeceptional. The condition of the rooms at Cinta Alam are quite good and Johan's family is very warm and welcoming. The food was amazing and the hospitality was beyong comparable. I was so sad to leave. During February a couple of friends and I traveled to... More

We made a 6 days trek with Udin, the brother of Johanns wife. We saw lot of wildlife and different parts of the jungle. Udin was very enthusiastic, does make an effort all day long and cares about the wildlife! He is a real jungle guy and helped us to cross rivers where we thought it is impossible to pass... More

After 3 longer visits in Cinta Alam GH in Ketambe I feel the time is right for a comment. Usually I stay here for a couple of weeks and enjoy the stunning view from my bungalow of the rainforest on the western bank of Alas river. A few times I was allready trekking for 2-5 days tours with Johann and... More

Words really can't describe what an amazing time we had with the folks at Wisma Cinta Alam, exploring the beauty of Sumatran nature. I've traveled quite a bit but I've never stayed at a place that felt so much like home, despite being so different from where I grew up, and it all comes down to how warm, kind and... More

Room was ok, food low quality. Jungle trek first sounds good, but at night we "lost" money and camera in the tent. Actually this got stolen during we slept at night or in the morning when we took bath in the river. We were not sure who took this things, but we believe it was organized before. After the trek... Wisma Cinta Alam is a very nice place to experience the beautiful Leuser National Park. The accommodation is basic, but relatively comfortable. We booked a deluxe room, but were given one directly in front of the restaurant area. Because this was way too noisy and too light, we asked for a room that was far away from the restaurant area.... I stayed here for just over a week with two friends. The trek was absolutely awesome, the lodge owner Johan and his jungle guides are truly amazing and took us on 6day/5night jungle trek!! We saw so many cool jungle creatures and plants - all completely wild, this was not a touristy trek with tamed animals and jungle paths. Challenging... More
