We booked our stay at Makulay on a recommendation from a friend (who had a great stay there a few years ago) and were VERY disappointed with our experience, to say the least. Apparently its under new management that isn't managing it. The entire hotel was under construction (loud

Making the reservation at Agoda we made a mistake and took an extra day. The manager who was there told us that there was no problem and that they would return the money.

We stayed here for 4 nights in low season (sept 2018) and it cost around £36 a night for a double room with private bathroom. Compared to other places we have stayed it seems overpriced for what you get. A positive was that the owner honoured our booking even though we were delay

I base all my travel choices on others advice and I believe in this instance too much information is a very good thing. Booking the Hilltop House at the Makulay Lodge and Villas for 5 nights was to be the highlight of our holiday, it was with doubt a disappointment and the low

Is aircon available in all rooms? is it allowed to add person in the room?
I don't think that there is aircon in each room. I don't know if it is allowed to add person in the room.

Did anyone stay at room 5E? How are the amenities?
I am planning to come to the Philippines in January, mainly for snorkeling and diving. I saw your web site, but I wanted to ask questions to you directly so I can be sure I know how things are at your place. It certainly looks like a beautiful and comfortable place to stay. Here are some questions: 1. Is there good snorkeling from the beach at hotel? I don't want to take a boat, just want to wade out & go snorkeling. 2. How hot does it usually get in January: Is air conditioning available? Is there usually much rain In Jan? Do you have fresh water showers? Electricity? 3. Do you have a dive shop or is the a dive shop close by? 4. If I want a meal at another restaurant are restaurants nearby? 5. How does one get around? Is there easy bus service? 6. Would I fly in to Puerto Princesa and do you have transportation from airport? 7. Can I get a room with a/c and ocean view? What is the cost? I am one person, I hope to stay for 2 weeks, around Jan 7, but my dates are flexible. Thanks, hope to hear from you soon Billye Timbes
Hi There is excellent snorkeling within the area but not from the hotel. There are plenty of dive shops and arranged trips where you can do island hoping and snorkeling. Well recommended. There is an array of restaurants within El Nido which is a pleasant 15 minute walk from the hotel. You can get around on the taxi tricycles (negotiate on fair before starting journey) or hire mopeds, a great way to explore other beaches etc. El nido is about a 5-6 hour journey from Puerto Princessa with lots of mini buses doing it. We stay at Port Barton on the way up another fantastic place to island hop from. Enjoy

Sir: We are three couples and need three rooms. Is ther kitchen available for us to do cooking. Any BBQ to grill. Dec 13-18. Let me know price.
No kitchens in the units for that many from what I have seen. They have a restaurant downstairs and there are plenty of all types/budget eating places in El Nido.

"DO NOT book the Hilltop Villa unless you really need to lose weight"
"Room 3C will give you a good view of the beach"
"Lower rooms have noise from the restaurant and view is not as good as the higher rooms but then there aren't the steps to get to the room."
