If ever you are looking for a place that is a "Bang for your Buck", this is definitely one of them. Yes, it is not 4 or 5 star rating but the unit we got was roomy, clean and reasonably maintained well. The resort is gated and 24/7 security. The service was top notched if I may say so. We were greeted with a refreshment upon check-in. And what blew me away was, they were conscious that we made arrangements for some early pick-up for our tours that they even asked us to pre-order our breakfast in order for us to have a meal before we left for our planned tours. Most places, they will tell you when they serve breakfast and if you are not there between those hours, then tough for you.
This resort will definitely going to be one that I will be endorsing to all my friend and family.

We loved our stay, it was a very relaxing quiet oasis. Airport close by and free shuttle was quick and easy. Front desk helpful with advice, taxis, getting around town. We missed our first booking due to airline cancellation and they allowed us to change to a different date at no extra charge. The room was perfect, clean, spacious, not sure if they're all the same, ours had a small fridge, AC, ceiling fan, variety of lightning options, and the bathroom was lovely(if you can say that about a bathroom)! Restaurant was great, pool, gardens, and the Marilyn Monroe statue, oo la la!

If you're planning to go on a trip in Palawan Puerto Princesa this is the best place for you. It's very clean, convenient and comfortable. Staff are very accommodating. My partner and I loved the ambiance of the place cos it's very cozy and relaxing. Will definitely back at this place for sure. Good job to all the staff and on the management on maintaining a good place like this. Also, the hotel is only 5 mins away from the Airport and they have a free shuttle for that.

The hotel and our room were nice. The breakfast selection, made to order, each morning was great. The pool was descent but much smaller than it looks in pictures. But it was very dissapointing that after our flight arrival was delayed we were told we could no longer have a free airport pickup which was supposed to be included, because they did not have a driver available. There were several drivers available to pick up passengers at the airport so paid for our own transport. The cost was only 300 pesos, not much, but it was a very dissapointing level of service compared to what we have gotten at other hotels in the 4 previous times in Puerto Princesa.

Dear guest, thank You very much for Your review. It is nice to hear, that You enjoyed our hotelpremises and the breakfast. Since You have been several times at Puerto Princesa, You were indulged by the former free shuttle service from and to the airport. Dolce Vita Hotel is one of the few hotels in town, that are still offering this service for free, but only from 6am until 6 pm. Most other hotels, like in Manila, are no longer offering a free shuttle service because of the high costs for drivers, cars etc. Puerto Princesa has now, unlike before, more Taxi Services and Tricycle Services to bring the guests from the Airport to the hotels. Yours very friendly Robert and Elsa Jilg Owner

My boyfriend and I booked Dolce Vita for 3 nights after our flight for the purpose of relaxing by the pool and using it as a base for our tour to the underground river. The hotel was very quiet with little people staying however they still put us in the annex. The pool area really wasn’t relaxing - the sunbeds were extremely uncomfortable and the pool looked dirty so neither of us got in it. The room was very outdated and needed a severe refurbishment. It was somewhat clean but not spotless. The shower temperature was very inconsistent, scolding you at moments then freezing you at others.

However the worst part of our stay here was the food at the so called “restaurant”. One lunch time we decided to eat here and my boyfriend ordered the burger, I ordered a margarita pizza - how can you get such simple dishes so wrong? The burger was burnt like coal on the outside and raw in the inside. My pizza was literally like one of those “make your own pizza” boxes you can buy for kids to use at parties. Such a shame because the breakfasts on the other hand were lovely.

On a plus note, the staff were friendly and attentive, and there is 24/7 security which was reassuring.

Dear guest, thank You very much for Your honest review. Our staff is happy to hear, that they are friendly and attentive and the breakfast met Your expectations. You booked our cheapest standardrooms, which are all in the Annex. Our guests love the quiet atmosphere, since we are not along the road, and we can accomodate a maximum of 60 guests. So even we are fully booked, our hotel premises with the big garden never look overcrowded. Our cook must have had a bad day, sorry for that. You should have tried our seafood or international dishes, not a Burger or Pizza, which You can get at every Junk Food place. Have a good time. Robert and Elsa Jilg Owner

The place is set back from the main road which is nice. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable. WiFi was good. I had mango for breakfast every morning. They were very good.

The decoration was a bit kitsch. I stayed in two different rooms and one definitely needed more updating than the second. Basic thing like broken light bulb (1 of 2 in the ceiling) should have been noticed before any guest checked in.

The only complaint I have has to do with the tours they “sold” me after I booked. The sales manager sent me an email with different tour names and no description or explanation. I researched them and decided to book 2 tours back to back with the hotel since I wanted to pay by credit card on the hotel bill so I didn’t have to carry so much cash.

I got there late and the tour was for 7am pick up the following morning. The receptionist had no record of any tours I booked. The sales manager never booked the tours even though I received an email telling me all the tours were confirmed. Luckily, the receptionist could book the tours for me at 11pm. The whole thing created stress I didn’t need at the beginning of a vacation.

Then i was presented with the bill for the tours for cash payment. I asked what the other people on the tour paid and I was charged a 25% premium. I told the hotel for that premium, they could take the payment in credit card. Not a big big deal. Just unpleasant.

We enjoyed our stay. Room was clean and big, food was nice. Very good service. Courteous staff.

The massage was not good though, still need some improvement on your massage service. Make sure to change the beddings of your massage bed.

I had very low expectations and this hidden gem was a lovely surprise. We stayed here for one night due to its convenience to the airport for an early flight. The whole experience was better than the supposed 5 star resort we were staying at. The restaurant had lovely fresh local food, the rooms had character and were comfortable and everyone was helpful and pleasant. We wished we had stayed here for our entire Palawan experience as the day trip options were severely limited at the “resort”.
