Traveling during the pandemic is quite stressful especially with the changing government guidelines but Shang has been reassuring and flexible from the time of booking until you check out. They were very proactive in updating us of changes in IATF guidelines. They also provided comprehensive guidelines on the latest LGU requirements needed before our flight and what to expect when we arrive in Boracay. On the day of our arrival we felt safe against COVID because of their cleanliness and safety protocols. They also gave me a birthday surprise and even upgraded our villa which has the nicest view and amenities. Resort in general is quite massive and has tropical luxe vibe. They also have extensive facilities and activities that we just wanted to stay at the resort during the entire time of your stay. But I want to commend the people and their service the most. Everyone was just very friendly and helpful especially our morning host and the staff(lifeguard and guy who assisted us with kayak and paddle board) by the pool and beach. We were even faced with an unfortunate situation because of another Bora hotel but Shang was very proactive in helping us until we found a solution. They really went an extra mile and provided an impeccable service. Thank you Shang especially to the Vicente, Rachel and Udo!

If there were an option to give a 10-star rating for Shangri-La Boracay Resort & Spa, I would definitely give it. The moment we landed Caticlan Airport, the driver / staff from Shangri-La Boracay was there waiting for us and immediately assisted us with our luggages. From there, we were brought to the Jetty Port where a Shangri-La Speedboat was waiting for us, ready to bring us to the hotel which was around 10-15 minutes away. We really enjoyed the boat ride and it made us feel like we were royalty and on our way to our exclusive and luxurious vacation spot. My wife and I stayed there for 4 days and 3 nights, and we were luckily upgraded from our Deluxe Room to a Premium Seaview Room. Thanks to Ms. Cherry for assisting us every step of the way, in our accommodation and for the early check-in. We rode the hotel buggy from the front desk area to bring us to our room. The room that we got had the best view I have ever seen my entire life. I have stayed in other 5-star and 6-star hotels in different places and islands, but I really have to say that Shangri-La Boracay has the best view of the ocean, which made us really fascinated. The superb cleanliness of the entire room, bathroom, etc. were definitely a plus factor. You do not need to go out to the hotel. Everything is already in Shangri-La Boracay. It is much peaceful unlike in Station 1 / White Beach which had quite a lot of people and was somewhat chaotic since every minute you walk in the beach there’s someone who will approach you and bug you non-stop about island tours, activities, etc. In Shangri-La, you have nothing to worry about, no one to disturb or annoy you. Guaranteed! We really loved the pools, which were a lot. The pool is cleaned and maintained daily. If you want to go to the beach, it’s a few steps away from the pool which was really amazing and convenient. We ordered our now-favorite watermelon shake which my wife really, really loved. Shangri-La Boracay has a pool-side restaurant called ‘Cielo.’ We got the recommended club sandwich with smoked salmon, chicken truffle pasta, calamares and fried shrimp, and their ice-cream (Madagascar Vanilla and Salted Caramel, which was our favorite). They have two beaches (one is private and only for Shangri-La guests and the other one is shared with their neighboring hotels: Movenpick and Crimson). Jomar, the buggy driver / staff was very friendly and nice. He even brought us to the picturesque and scenic locations of Shangri-La to have our pictures taken right behind the breathtaking views. Prince and Jomari, the staff in the breakfast buffet were really kind and friendly. They assisted us in a way that we felt like we were VIP’s. PLEASE TAKE NOTE: We originally booked our stay for 3 days, 2 nights. However, on our last day, we made a super last-minute decision to extend our stay for another day. This also means that we have to rebook our flight going back to Manila. We did not mind doing this at all because we really fell in love with Shangri-La Boracay and it was definitely worth-it for us to extend our stay. Just to let you know that we were torn between choosing Crimson and Shangri-La Boracay for us to stay during our trip. We heard that Crimson is newer, but after consulting our very close friends who have stayed in both Crimson and Shangri-La, they still strongly recommended for us to stay in Shangri-La Boracay. And as a result, we did not have any regrets staying in Shangri-La Boracay. In fact, we already booked again for my birthday next year. We just can’t wait to be back in Shangri-La Boracay, a place we are proud to describe our “second home.”

Our stay from July 28-31, 2021 was absolutely beautiful and perfect! I would highly recommend you guys book your flight to Boracay ASAP and stay at Shangri-La. STAFF The staff are very courteous and assistive. I would say that they really go beyond what is expected of them. Truly a 5-star hotel experience. If you need anything, you can just call any of them and they would come to you running and with a smile! My partner had a very bad sunburn that he needed some aloe vera so soothe it. I have asked the reception and they immediately brought a nurse up to our room to soothe the sunburn. Some 5-star hotels treat foreigners better than Filipinos, but as a Filipino, I can say that the staff were very successful in making us feel at home. ROOM We have been upgraded from Deluxe Garden View to Premier Sea View, probably because only a few people were staying due to the pandemic and the rainy season. Our jaws literally dropped the moment we have opened the door to our hotel room. The view is amazing! and the room is very well-kept considering that SLBO is one of the pioneer hotels in Boracay. Plus the toiletries don't feel cheap at all, unlike other hotels. My partner loved the Panpuri products so much that he has been searching everywhere for their products. Lemongrass will always remind us of Shangri-La. AMENITIES SLBO is HUGE! A golf cart was needed to go around the place. But every inch of this huge resort is BEAUTIFUL! They have lots of activities for children, so i would recommend this for families with small children. We don't have any children but we were able to enjoy all the amenities the resort offers. FOOD Sad how only Vintana and Cielo were the only restaurants open due to the pandemic. But it didn't really bother us much since the food in Vintana and Cielo are amazing. We were craving for lamb chops from Cielo but we wanted to eat it at Vintana since we wanted to try other dishes there too and they made it possible! Up to this day, i'm still dreaming of their Lamb Massaman Curry. OVERALL: I would give this resort a 10/5! It has exceeded our expectations in so many ways possible. We have booked for 2 nights, but during our last day, we have decided to extend another night, which led us to pay an additional fee to rebook our flight but we totally didn't mind! Again, THIS PLACE IS WORTH EVERY PESO! When we got back to Manila from Boracay, we immediately booked another flight going back to this paradise and we will surely book our stay here at Shangri-La. I would only visit Boracay, if i'm staying at Shangri-La. I never want to leave that place!

Everything was fine, food, drinks, accommodations. We really appreciated the upgraded category. Although our full satisfaction was probably due to the partial occupancy of the Hotel because of the Covid travel restriction, we found the service much better than any other Shangrila Hotels. A completely turn-around from our previous bad experience in Shangrila Penang.
