I stayed here in 2004. Then it was managed by this Palestinian guy and was a great place. BBQs on the roof, a popular bar on the ground floor. It was filled with young people, many of them staying long term. I stayed two weeks and enjoyed it. Why I write this now is it seems to be a different...

just shocked to read all bad reviews for summer tavern, stayed there two times and I found no problem at all, but yeah I took a single room.. bathroom was clean and nothing to complain. all staff was helpfull and kind, especially when I left my wallet in the computer room (near the kitchen), I got almost all my money,...

This Hostel looks great in their website but it's the opposite of how is it presented on the internet. I could say the best staff who showed his initiative to help us on our queries is Rojan, he has good sense of customer service. I suggest they should make improvements on their facilities like the bathroom/toilet, desktops for internet use,...

It has all been said here before. We felt very let down by Lonely Planet's outdated recommendation and will contact them in the hope they will remove this place from furture publications - it really is that bad. Agoda.com also sells this place and gives it an incorrect write up, thoroughly disappointed. The staff are rude, surly and completely useless....

There is a confusion between two hotels with the same name but with no connection. Unfortunately we had booked and paid for the one that does not deserve to be recommended. Summer Tavern at 31 Carpenter Street should be avoided. We left after taking one look at the "room" - on the fourth floor (no lift), no window (although we...

I booked this hotel via the Internet and attracted by the cheap price. Arriving in front of the hotel, I've started to feel uncomfortable when I saw the hotel's lobby is a bit dark and messy. Even the hotel staff was dozing on the couch. Once reported evidence of hotel booking, the officer drove us to a room with a...

DO NOT stay here! We arrived at 11.00 pm after a long day travelling. We paid for 3 nights for the two of us in a dorm room. The place was dark and very dingy! We were taken to the room which was to be honest disgusting. It absolutely stank.... we didnt even want to breathe the air. I wanted...

We stayed here over the Singapore Grand Prix. Not only was it expensive it was terrible. The rooms where disgusting, the aircon dripped water the whole night. When you enter the premises it is dark and dingy, and there where always people sleeping on the couch in the darkness. The bathroom where disgusting and the taps leakes all the time....

We booked this hostel due to a favourable review in Lonely Planets 'SE Asia on a shoestring'. We had a double room with air conditioning on the 4th Floor. The bed took up 90% of the room. So far not a problem, of course we knew we were in a cheap hostel. When we woke up and went downstairs for...

This place is no more what it seems to be. The prices for the rooms (s$ 40 for Dorm bed, s$80 for double room) are really to high. Our double room was 30-40cm bigger than the bed inside what means there is no more space for backpacks and persons. The Bathroom and toilets where not very clean. At night sometimes it...
